The link you originally posted said a top 5 pick.

They arent getting a top 10 pick either. Aldridge is a bad contract, and its highly unlikely they will find a suitor before FA
That's the difference between listening to what some radio guy speculates the Spurs want and what the team actually asks for... you should recognize the difference and accordingly consider the value of the information.

No harm in the Spurs asking but LA is gonna bring nearly nothing of a return. He is the kind of guy now that you gotta take a bad contract back for.
Teams are gonna hold SA hostage knowing they need that money for CP3.

A radio guy claimed the Spurs want a top 5 draft talent for Aldridge and you hung on to that like it was the Spurs making that demand. I corrected you by showing you a link proving their actual target is a top 10 draft talent for Aldridge. Rather than acknowledging the difference between the radio guys claim and the Spurs actual wishes, you referred to my original post that contained the link to the radio guys claim. The radio guys was wrong... just accept it.

My initial response was in regards to the link you posted. I responded to the next link you posted stating they wont get a top 10 pick either.

And I will laugh at you if they do, meanwhile, I turn my attention back to the Spurs acquiring the services of Chris Paul.

Other consideration than money may be more important to Chis Paul's decision. At his age he needs to win now and his experiences in L.A. should tell him it's not happening there. I can't imagine a better fit for his talents than with the Spurs... stable and successful. That would have to be a welcome change to the Clippers dysfunction.

But I digress... The tax considerations alone should be enough for Chis Paul to seriously consider to migrate away from L.A and into the welcoming tax friendly Lone Star State, where the Spurs reign supreme.

they "can" move it. but it would require giving up other things to make it work.
they aren't getting someone's R1 next year for him. teams that would do the deal (say CLE) don't have the space to eat.

but they could stretch release him and trade danny green.

It's gonna be hard finding takers right before FA. I think the only time they can establish a market is after the top players on market sign and teams with space that missed out on top talent may be willing to take his contract. And even, they are getting very little for him.

Could they buy him out?

Will be interesting to see how this plays out. Both Paul and Harden are at their best with the ball in their hands. But Houston desperately needed another player who could create for themselves and others.
Harden can play off the ball, granted he became an MVP candidate as a ball dominant point. I think it negates his contribution some but ultimately it works in theory. My question is who's team is it now, and does that become an issue. Just because Harden can move off the ball doesnt mean he wants to

I don't see Paul and Harden working well together.
