considering they've arguably been the best front office in football the past 24 months, i'd say it is pretty goofy, but only because saying what it really is violates site guidelines.

They may be the best however they aren't perfect. Remember we were very, very close to selecting Johnny football rather than Martin. That pick would have been a disaster.

Secondly, there is nothing wrong with me bringing up an obvious problem that can happen during the course of the season. Thats not being a armchair GM its just commonsense. Even Jerry know it can be a problem but yet doesn't do anything about it. All the FO says is that were fine and were ok with what we have. Thus we won't sign anyone because they really think this oline is so invincible and that anyone can run behind it.

Randle is so good he got 60 touches last year and Murray got 500

What does the number of touches Randle got last year have to do with it? It wouldn't be the first time a backup stepped into the starting role and excelled. And you have a good reason why the team worked Murray as hard as they did on his way out the door. He's an every-down back who didn't miss much injury time. That's what happen when you back up a guy like that. The same argument can be made for Aaron Rodgers' time on the bench in Green Bay.

Look what Randle did with the touches he got. Or just watch him in the preseason. The guy's a pretty good player.

Running back just isn't an important enough position to deserve as much angst as some of you guys are giving it. I mean, it's your prerogative if you want to worry about it. You can always just come back later in the season sporting a signature pick about how wrong you were or whatever. It's just a shame to see you guys wasting what should be an exciting offseason where we appear to have addressed the huge pass rush limitations this team had by worrying over a position group that's a) going to be more productive than you fear it's going to be and b) just not that important to actually winning games in the first place.

And we weren't remotely close to drafting Johnny Manziel. Even Tony Romo was doing interviews after the draft saying he never worried about it because he was privy to the internal discussions and knew it wasn't going to happen. You're getting sucked into Jerry's marketing ploy if you think for a minute we were looking QB with that pick. It was defense all the way, with Martin the highest rated option left by the time we were on the clock.

You are 100% right.

"Good enough" shouldn't be the goal for this team. We are a legitimate SB contender and we should act like it.

I would've kept Murray, signed Vereen over Dunbar, drafted a RB and still even signed DMC.

Lets put this into perspective.

Murray is making about 8 million per. year. He had over 2k in total yardage last year.

Brandon Carr is making 10 million this year. He had 0 INT last year.

If Murray would have helped us this year to get to the Superbowl he would have been worth it.

Lastly, I don't see why they want to keep Dunbar. He is nothing more than a glorified bench warmer with 0 TDs throughout his NFL career. I would replace him with a true workhorse that we can use to chew time off the clock.

I just wonder if we were to get Michael if then everyone would stop complaining about our running game, or if it would still be under the "sky is falling" rule?

It would depend on what the national media talking heads would say.

Maybe your right. Maybe its a marketing ploy. Thus I don't take what the FO says verbatim all the time seriously. Sometimes what they say is nothing more than a marketing ploy.

I would like micheal but who do you release. also I do not think that gus Johnson is a nfl running back. he does nothing special to me I see him play of course what do I know.

Don't get the love for micheals but you make a great point
Who you gonna cut to make room for another RB?
Dunbar contributes on st's and if you cut him you have to sign a guy who can replace what he does there
The other option is cut a player somewhere else
So unless you want to cut a DT or oline guy then your option is a RB who can play special teams and that's not a 34 yr old back or Trent richards because they don't contribute anything on special teams

They want Dunbar because of they can use him in receiving sets. And because he plays STs. Your workhorse is just going to sit behind our starters until and unless somebody gets hurt. If you're replacing somebody with an every-down guy, it ought to be McFadden. And then you have to have an every down guy who can hold onto the football and pass protect to do that. Good luck.

Murray's not here because his cost was too high for his mileage. And that's a good reason. It's got nothing to do with a bad contract on Brandon Carr.

You've got to read the situation. But the Manziel thing was Jerry's way of owning the coverage from pick 8 to pick 16 of that draft. It's free publicity, and leaks from the organization after make it clear that signing Manziel wasn't ever in the cards.

Here's a Couple things y'all might not know. Pete Carroll is very unhappy with the development of Michael. He fumbles a lot and can't pass block. I get the pleasure (puke) of listening to Seahawk love radio all day. From the way everyone around here talks, Micahel is one of the guys who just doesn't get it. Not bright at all. And an FYI, Turbin is the next in line once Lynch is gone. They are about to give him a long term contract, and love everything about him. He isn't going anywhere.

The number of touches says everything you need to know.

It says Murray was the much the better back and didn't need to come off the field.

I've watched Randle and he looks like a part-time back. Not big enough to carry the load and not explosive enough to scare anyone.

If you are so excited about our RBs dance a jig and post a Vine but I don't need you to tell me how to talk about my feelings about my team.

The offseason has pretty much sucked besides a few great days around the draft, signing Hardy and finally getting a deal with Dez. Otherwise it has been suspensions, nagging injuries, poor play in the preseason and questions about RB. I bet they turn it on for the real games but things look a bit off if you ask me.

But I heard that Michael is the next coming of Earl Campbell, well at least head and shoulders better than anyone the team has now. Ok we have guy in Randle that will pass block but technique wise needs refinement, and does not have too much of history of fumbles, randle does seem dumb off the field. So at the very best Randle is better RIGHT now, at the very worse Randle is on par with Michael if what you are saying is true.

The Seahawks are doing exactly what a winning franchise does. While we sit here and watch our front office look like the Iraqi Defense Minister, Seattle is busy replacing a JAG (like Dunbar) with a proven leader that still has plenty on the tires.
Visiting Seattle for physical. Barring any unforeseen issues, he is expected to sign and reunite with beastmode. Great move Seattle.
''This is a visit for us. It's not a signing,'' Carroll said. ''We have tremendous respect for Fred as a player.

I've been busy so I don't know the latest but did Fred sign with Seattle?

As a side note:
At 34, Jackson was the league's oldest running back last season.
That is why we had no interest.

Touches only tell you what the team preferred to do last year. That's it. If the guy was productive with the touches he got, you can't really knock him for it. Or for not getting more.

I didn't tell you how to talk about your feelings about your team. I gave you my take that the bellyaching isn't warranted.

This has been an awesome offseason. I can't imagine how you wouldn't just appreciate it, but again, that's your prerogative. Just like it's mine to comment that I think it's a shame you don't just enjoy it.

But, yeah, I do basically think you're complaining about nothing.

Well it can mean nothing but it can also mean something. Last year I've heard that Murray was their best pass protector and maybe the coaching staff didn't put Randle is to pass protect. Now we also get word from camp that Randle is having issues with pass protection. Running back may not be important until when someone like Romo gets hurt because we didn't have someone who can pass protect.

Will that happen? Probably not. But its a possibility. Especially if Macfadden gets injured who then are they going to have in there to pass protect? Not only that who is going run the ball when we need to chew some time off the clock? Who is going to run the ball in short yardage situation? Dunbar? I don't think so.

What opinion? I've stating the obvious here. I'm agreeing with most here that MacFadden is injury prone right? Even Jerry stated it himself that MacFadden could get injured. I'm asking the question WHAT IF MacFadden gets injured - what then? Do they rely on Randle and Dunbar throughout the season? Heck no! Randle has issues with pass protection and no one knows if he can handle the entire load. Do you want him in there picking up the blitz? I certainly don't.

For a team that has superbowl aspirations and a team that is the most dominant run offense in the NFL - we all know we can do better than what we have. Thus I'm just stating the obvious flaws with our running back situation and nothing else. If you think that were ok than fine. I don't. And a team with superbowl aspirations we should also not be comfortable with what we have so far in the runningback dept.

I came on today just to make a thread about this and I'm glad I saw this lol.

I have always loved his talents and I e heard several scouts and podcast gushing over his talent and potential for years. If he's cut he's a must add to this roster

Get it done!
