What does the number of touches Randle got last year have to do with it? It wouldn't be the first time a backup stepped into the starting role and excelled. And you have a good reason why the team worked Murray as hard as they did on his way out the door. He's an every-down back who didn't miss much injury time. That's what happen when you back up a guy like that. The same argument can be made for Aaron Rodgers' time on the bench in Green Bay.
Look what Randle did with the touches he got. Or just watch him in the preseason. The guy's a pretty good player.
Running back just isn't an important enough position to deserve as much angst as some of you guys are giving it. I mean, it's your prerogative if you want to worry about it. You can always just come back later in the season sporting a signature pick about how wrong you were or whatever. It's just a shame to see you guys wasting what should be an exciting offseason where we appear to have addressed the huge pass rush limitations this team had by worrying over a position group that's a) going to be more productive than you fear it's going to be and b) just not that important to actually winning games in the first place.
The number of touches says everything you need to know.
It says Murray was the much the better back and didn't need to come off the field.
I've watched Randle and he looks like a part-time back. Not big enough to carry the load and not explosive enough to scare anyone.
If you are so excited about our RBs dance a jig and post a Vine but I don't need you to tell me how to talk about my feelings about my team.
The offseason has pretty much sucked besides a few great days around the draft, signing Hardy and finally getting a deal with Dez. Otherwise it has been suspensions, nagging injuries, poor play in the preseason and questions about RB. I bet they turn it on for the real games but things look a bit off if you ask me.
