It is all about Romo; Mystery QB X is taking over soon. I'm not exactly saying throw cash around; But go into the season with a proven RB; We should be pushing for a SB, not trying to "get by"; Something/Anything better then DMC/Randle...

And I am jumping on the Run DMC Train;;

My comment had to do with AD, I would not give picks to get him nor would I break the bank. I like Murray would have liked to have kept him and think had Dallas put a legit offer on the table at the get go he very well would have signed. They didn't and the cost became 8 mill which Dallas was not going to do. As for the current RB I have some concerns as well and just because Dallas did not go get Jackson really does not mean anything as teams still have to go from 75 to 53. I'm sorry as big of a fan of Romo as I am this is not about Romo and he will not be the last QB we will get and who ever that QB may end up being in the future you give him a chance by having a legit team and OL for him. Look at Wilson 3rd rd. QB not asked to carry the team because they put a team in place.

The Seahawks are doing exactly what a winning franchise does. While we sit here and watch our front office look like the Iraqi Defense Minister, Seattle is busy replacing a JAG (like Dunbar) with a proven leader that still has plenty on the tires.

Are we a franchise that truly desires to elevate from last year or do we just play one on tv?

So they signed Jackson?

Ok. sorry about that. But I wouldve thrown Minny a 1st rounder. But thats it.

I want a SB. imho, the easiet path to get the Dallas Cowboys a SB is with Romo on the roster.....Dont sacrifice or cut back now, when we dont know who or what that next QB is...

Draft one in the first round, trade for one, sign one in FA....etc etc....It doesnt matter. We wont know until he plays a year or two.

It seems to me, it would just be easier, to get those Super Bowls, now!

Based on reports, seems like it's pretty close.

Actually left without being signed. According to report appears to be just a tire kicker by the hawks.

Seahawks coach Pete Carroll called Fred Jackson's visit "not a signing."

It sounds like the Seahawks were merely kicking the tires/updating their emergency list. No. 2 back Robert Turbin is dealing with a high-ankle sprain, and F-Jax would be a readymade replacement were Turbin unavailable for Week 1.

I want one as well but no way do I give a 1st for a RB with a year or 2 left in his career and even getting him assures nothing. It is easy to play the hypothetical game but any number of things can go wrong. Heck people talk about injuries? AD has had his share of them and at 30 I doubt the become less. I do want the SB no question and I think it is the how Dallas has been conducting business that has gotten them to this point give us that chance and did it without making silly moves getting rid of top picks or overpaying. Even Dez contract as big as it is I don't consider it a bad deal on the Cowboys part

There's a good chance that Fred Jackson will not be on a roster until Week 2, so as to avoid guaranteeing his salary for the year.

Well, at some point in the future, all these 1st rounders are gonna want to get paid; Pay AP/AD for a few years and try and win one......? I know thats not popular, goes against conventional thought and wisdom. Bad Practice in general. I get it. And I agree.

However, we havent been to a SB in over 2 decades. Its going to take a little something extra, to get us out of that rut;

I have no idea what this team is , without Romo. I know I know, tough OL/DL/Dez.....thats great. But we aint doing anything without a QB. They dont grow off trees............And that person currently isnt on the roster;

So, to not make a real effort to get that SB for the Cowboys, Franchise, and Romo/Witten, is a mistake imho....But hey, we might win it 3-4 years from now with good fiscal planning.

I know I will get beat up for that opinion. But none of this matters. All the talk, and moves, and great salary cap mgmt, being fiscal and smart...etc etc. If we dont win a SB........ it will be all for not!

I get AP. And if I dont do that, I dont let Murray walk without some replacements other then DMC......thats for sure;

I know how long it has been since our last SB and I think there have been times that Jerry has made the big mistakes trying to get that SB yet we get no closer just further away and with fewer resources when we given up top picks. I think the reason the Cowboys are now in a position to compete is they have avoiding making the same bone head mistakes.

Thats a strong argument. Lots of ways to get there.....; And we could make up excuses for all kinds of things....why we didnt win when we had him or why we did win, etc etc.....

But whats great about sports is there is a bottom line. Win or dont.

I would load up for the next 3 years....I am not saying drafting didnt get us to this point. But we can only keep so many first rounders.....And now that we have a good group, maybe it wouldnt hurt to bring in some help;

I think they are capable of winning as is. I would not mind picking up another RB and I think there will be some guys worth bringing in as teams get down to 53. As for any excuses I don't bother with them, there is always reasons why any team comes up short but the bottom line as you said is you win or you don't. That is why you did not see me spend a lot of time and energy on the Dez catch/ no catch argument. it is what it is. I think Jerry finally getting to a point where the Cowboys are not going to run out and make poor deals in hope of winning 1 season. I think they continue with working the draft and using FA to get mid range players they can compete. As for the future QB I agree he is not on this team right now but at least with picks and a stable cap it comes a little easier to find one and he will have a chance to come to a quality team unlike so many young QB who get thrown to the wolves and have little around them.

I agree. But whatever the reasnoning may be. We are starting DMC\Randle this season.

But I have jumped the Run DMC train. I think he has a real shot here in Dallas. If he stays healthy.....I think he can be our guy! put up 12,13,1400....? - I just wouldnt have "relied" on that happening.
