The main Seattle RB I am interested in is Thomas Rawls. If he is cut or goes on the practice squad. I am running to the phone to call his agent.

He's garbage. Take it from the biggest Michigan fan in the world.

What does the number of touches Randle got last year have to do with it? It wouldn't be the first time a backup stepped into the starting role and excelled. And you have a good reason why the team worked Murray as hard as they did on his way out the door. He's an every-down back who didn't miss much injury time. That's what happen when you back up a guy like that. The same argument can be made for Aaron Rodgers' time on the bench in Green Bay.

Look what Randle did with the touches he got. Or just watch him in the preseason. The guy's a pretty good player.

Running back just isn't an important enough position to deserve as much angst as some of you guys are giving it. I mean, it's your prerogative if you want to worry about it. You can always just come back later in the season sporting a signature pick about how wrong you were or whatever. It's just a shame to see you guys wasting what should be an exciting offseason where we appear to have addressed the huge pass rush limitations this team had by worrying over a position group that's a) going to be more productive than you fear it's going to be and b) just not that important to actually winning games in the first place.

You have had a blind spot for the importance of the running game like a lot of stats guys, blindly following numbers

There are a million quotes by HC, DCs, and players that their first priority is to stop the running game. I've never heard them say that the running game has no correlation with wins so we don't care about it.
Are they lying or do you know more about football than they do?

He sucks. I watch pretty much every Bills game, and he had absolutely no burst last year.

What Jackson does year after year is fill in well for those who are supposed to take his place. He is no slouch. He is also one of the best locker room leaders in the league, and isn't greedy on the field. There is a reason Bills fans hated to see him cut, and fans all across the NFL knew he would be grabbed immediately by another team. The man has tremendous value, even at age 34. I hate that we aren't even going to take a look at him. The house he grew up in is now demolished. Cowboys Stadium now sits over that land. It would have been nice to bring him home.

Neither. You're misunderstanding the argument and confusing the importance of a running game and the importance of an effective running game. And maybe under valuing the role of blocking in the process too.

We've got the players in place to get into the downs and distances we need for Tony Romo to keep converting. We like our top three backs for this purpose. That's been evident since the draft, and it's not going to change.

He's old and he's not a good runner. Bills fans aren't anywhere near as upset as people would like to think. Fred Jackson has no value. He's not talented, he's not a winner and he wouldn't do anything except hold young guys back.

You run with that. It's been a popular opinion for years. Jackson keeps showing otherwise. Seattle knows what they are doing in getting him.

And yet he's about to potentially displace a guy everyone is hot after who has done nothing in three years?

considering they've arguably been the best front office in football the past 24 months, i'd say it is pretty goofy, but only because saying what it really is violates site guidelines.

Yeah, they're infallible and totally beyond reproach...

And yet, we're still looking at Brandon Weeden and Dustin Vaughan as the backup QB's.

Beyond reproach I say!

The only thing "goofy" is blindly following anything and everything the team says and does.

True if you disagree with a move they make I see no reason not to state your view but then as a fan all you can do is hope it works as the organization planned. I think it gets a bit ridicules when people spend the entire year pounding the same thing and claiming the team does not know what they are doing because they fail to do what a fan wants.

A fan has every right to judge on the moves his team makes. You like Weeden? If you were a Browns fan would you be happy?

And I find it ridiculous that some fans think that it's an obligation to blindly go along with anything and everthing the team does and questioning them in any way is viewed as some sort of crime.

This team has been doing a great job lately and I don't think many, if any, fans would deny that. But that doesn't mean we have to endorse each and every decision they make. And in this case, I simply disagree with their chosen course of action and continue to do so.

We all agree that we hope things work out for the best, but we don't have to agree with their chosen path.

Also, you didn't read any of the Bills forums after he was released, did you? They call him the mayor of Buffulo for a reason.

Change for the sake of change is dumb.

I highly doubt a team is going to let a truly impactful running back just walk away. What's here is already better than the guys that get released.

Dallas is going to have to trade for a guy like that, if it's even available.
