Our offense is heavily built around the running game, controlling the clock, etc. Maybe we can win if the running game is ineffective, doesn't draw extra attention, etc., but I need to see it to believe it.
If we have a bunch of 3 and outs it's going to get ugly.

Yep and yet we were 3-5 to start last season with Zeke running at an elite level and 7-1 after acquiring Amari and dramatically improving the pass game.

We go as Daks throwing goes.

In general, defenses stack the box in reaction to the number of players in the offensive box, no matter who the RB is. The Rams' opponents hardly ever had 8+ in the box because Gurley didn't usually run from obvious run formations. That didn't mean those defenses didn't respect Gurley.

True that.

You have a source for box info such as DEF having +1 in box, equal, or OFF +1 box, etc

Zeke will demand a trade soon.

He can demand all he wants...He ain't getting no big deal and Jerry is dug in. Zeke is under contract for this year and next
and with a franchise tag the following year. If he doesn't want to play, lots of money going to be left on the table and the fines
are going to go ballastic.

She's not the only one. All of these "insiders" are getting played big time by both sides of the negotiating table.
Absolutely. I don't get why fans seem to think they are responsible for the constant back and forth.

So Elliott had nothing to do with us going 7-1? Having a strong running game makes it easier to pass the ball. It doesn't make it to where you can pass the ball if your passing game isn't any good, which ours wasn't the first half of last season. If teams can stop your running game with a seven-man front, then you've got an extra player in coverage taking away your receiving options.

He helped yes but without quality passing we won 3 whole games before acquiring Amari.

RBs are overrated.. It’s all about passing and stopping the pass.

Dallas ranked in the middle of the league in run/pass ratio in its normal offense. Most of the teams that ran more than the Cowboys when the game was close through the first three quarters became one-dimensional when they were trailing big late in games -- a situation Dallas was seldom in.

Run %
Margin 8 points or less
1st Sea 52.6%
16th Dal 42.9%

Qtr 1-3
1st Sea 53.6%
14th Dal 42.6%

Note that the Cowboys controlled the clock better (and moved the chains much better) with Amari than pre-Amari.

Weeks 1-8
TOP per drive 2:57 (7th)
yards per drive 30.5 (23rd)
fewest punts per drive 41.7% (24th)

Weeks 9-19
TOP per drive 3:15 (2nd)
yards per drive 36.2 (9th)
fewest punts per drive 34.5% (9th)

NO...The chargers are hardly a good template of how to deal with players. They are notoriously cheap and not willing to negotiate in good faith. That's why they haven't won a thing of substance since 1994-95. Its a slippery slope. Once you go there and take a stance like they have, theres no repairing that. Its too early for us to do that...NOT YET.

The Cowboys have reportedly offered a more than fair contract to Zeke. So should they over pay? I say no. I’m willing to trade him if he can’t agree to fair compensation. Time for the Cowboys to stand pat. Ball is in Zeke’s court.

They didn't make a living at it but both Cobb and Austin have lined up in the backfield during their careers also.

He’ll get a big deal for a RB but the terms of the deal will heavily favor Dallas.

I think the guaranteed money will be the tell all and anything under 40 million would be a huge win for Dallas.
