I almost think you have to try to offer him something (minimum preferably) in hopes that whatever got him such a high grade finally shows up. Put him at the bottom of the depth chart for low, low money and hope it clicks.

You are right but he should be paid for his performance history and injury history not on his draft status. But if he doesn't like what we offer he could walk and that chapter of Cowboy history will be finally over.

I agree, which is why I would prefer bare minimum. I'm not suggesting to give him anything that resembles his draft position, and I doubt any team would.

I think the only way someone pays him anything much more than minimum is if he plays lights out next year, or some team thinks that they can salvage him by putting him in their scheme.

The guy was directly responsible for 2 TDs today.

St. Louis' final TD should have been called back. Claiborne was playing his assignment so I don't think it's his fault. I made a post about it here.

Anyone notice when Quick beat him for the TD that when he got off the ground complaining to the refs like he was pushed? He just flat out got beat.

Claiborne had a reason to be upset because St. Louis commited a penalty. I made a post about it here.

when your WR jumps full out and it still doesn't touch his finger tips its an overthrow, good for clai he was there, but he wasn't in that spot because he's reading the QB, Ball flight, or anything else, he was once again out of position and would have been an easy catch on clai had it not been overthrown.

They were playing Cover 3, meaning he has the deep third, so he has to stay deeper than the WR. The ball was overthrown, and Mo read it and made a play on the ball. He wasn't out of position. He was right where he was supposed to be, and made the play. I'm not saying he's a good CB, because right now I don't think he is. But on that play, he did what he was supposed to do.

Exactly. On the ball that was overthrown he was in position and played the ball perfectly. If the ball had been underthrown he would have broken in on it and had an even easier interception.

actually no. the receiver stopped to try and highpoint the ball instead of just running under it. Claiborne went past him when he stopped and caught the ball after the dude mistimed it. all the rest of the times he was just flat burned.

you can see Claiborne try to stop with the receiver thats why he was off balance. he did go up for the ball great but had the wr kept going it wouldnt have been high

So here's my question. Why does JG and/or Marinelli continue to start him? Honestly, we are better off with him on the bench, everyone can see that. But Jerry, I mean Jason won't take him off the field and play OS, Moore, or Hayden for that matter. Mo is the new Alan Ball, the player who wouldn't start on any contending teams. Get him out before he hurts us...

I think he truly thought he was pushed off. There was minimal contact but nothing that should've been called.

yeah that minimal contact was enough to get separation because Morris is soft. they knew he wasnt strong enough his rookie year but he still isnt able to play physical ball. its a joke the dude was a #6 pick and he isnt average. hes worse than our 4th corner. defend him whoever still wants whatever Im sick of the guy being a weak link.

This whole defensive scheme is a bust. Players playing soft coverage and teams picking us apart with ease. We have to get more aggressive and tighter coverage with their receivers.

Here is the video of the TD I am referring to and at 44 sec you can Clairborne complain after getting beat.

Watching another angle of the play Quick did push off around 10 yds down field which is after Claiborne gave him a free release. IMO still a very poor play by Morris.

Yeah, I'll also put trust in the criticism of Moose (a smart, professional player) rather than members of the board. In few words or less Moose said Mo sucked on the play. He did. He has more plays like this than more plays opposite of this one, when he IS targeted.

Sometimes the blind homerism goes waaaaaay off the deep end. Is there one person on this board who can say with a straight face that they wouldnt like a redo on the 2012 draft? Yah, thats what I thought.

I would have gone after Mark Barron, Dontrai Poe or Kevin Zeitler... Of those though I probably would like to have Poe right now the most.

Carr didn't look much better on tv anyway

they showed a graphic in the 4th quarter that he had been targeted 5 times with no receptions, I was like what game are these people watching?

Yeah I was confused about that? I hear he didn't do well this game but then they flashed that stat and I was kind of taken back like really? This play in the trenches was so poor this game though our corners were just exposed.

I think Claiborne needs to take example from Carr and not allow his WRs to escape with a free release within the first five yards. He simply doesn't have the kind of speed to keep up with the faster WRs the NFL has to offer. Seems like he should have figured this out by now. If the staff can't coach it out of him, he may not be able to hold his spot in the lineup too much longer. He shouldn't be allowed to linger indefinitely if things don't change. Either he'll have to improve his technique to allow better coverage or his days as a starter are sure to be numbered.

Guy is terrible. I was so happy when we drafted him but boy do I get sick of seeing him flop around out there.

He so needs to learn how to tackle ASAP. He tried to tackle Stacy up high and he is very fortunate to not have ruined his shoulder on that play.

Everytime the rams had a big play yesterday you could see Morris diving nowhere close to the ball.

Id nuch rather see Sterlig Moore in or Patmon

Carr and Scandrick are clearly better and I have more faith in Moore than Claiborne. It was a horrific trade up and selection and he has disappointed time after time. Glad the ball was overthrown at the end yesterday so he was able to do something positive in pass defense.

I'd be careful to say someone doesn't have "brains". Especially if your only evidence of that is a wonderlic score.

What's your evidence that he does have brains? Because his Wonderlic score and overall apparent sense of awareness indicate otherwise.
