I'd try to swing a deal to salvage some value at this point.

Obviously you won't get close to your investment, but you might be able to get something.

Detroit has a big need for corners and Rob Ryan might still like him and if he and Payton are still talking, you may get something from the Saints.

I would definitely be making some calls.

It will end up being another Barron for Carpenter deal. I can't really fault the Cowboys for drafting him, people ,were calling him the "best defensive player in the draft", sometimes the general consensus is just wrong. But good lord has he been a disappointment.

Thing drives me nuts about Mo he takes no responsibility for his mistakes. Guy is a bust like many LSU guys.

Injuries and poor play have sealed his fate. He will be gone sooner rather than later.

Just got back from the game. Great win. Down 21-0 I was an unhappy camper. I will post my general thoughts in a separate thread but the horrid play of Mo deserves it's own thread. He is MUCH worse in person than on TV. I watched him on every snap and came away horrified. Yes, he got the pick at the end but that was nothing but an overthrow.

Deep speed= Nonew. He may be the slowest CB we have had since Anthony Henry. He can't catch anyone and WR's were constantly beating him down field. On top of his physical limitations he has no clue what he is doing. He spent half the game looking around for clues as to what he was supposed to do. One glaring play. I'll have to watch it to figure out where it was. But he was top of the field covering 13. A few seconds before the snap he started back peddling giving the WR a good 7-8 yard window to work with. At the last second he must have realized he was in the wrong coverage because he sprinted at full speed to the line, getting there as the ball was snapped. HE basically ran past the receiver, who was immediately six yards behind him. Luckily, Davis never saw it or it would have been another easy TD.

At best, he is the #4 CB on this team and for the money I would rather put Patmon out there. If we cut him tomorrow I would he a happy camper. Just an awful, awful player.

Rant over. Enjoyed the game. Love my fellow fans who showed up and packed the Jones dome!

Thanks for this value added post. It amazes me that some would criticize your player dedicated on-the-field observations because they weren't "TV replays". Ironic.

When the all 22 film confirms your assessment, the excuses will be a the lack of safety coverage or a poor overall defensive scheme.

A portion of this board is dedicated to going against any criticism of the team. I hope they get something out of that deal.

I think he's an idiot who was lucky to play on a great defense in a non-passing conference in college who for some reason was hyped to the moon by 'experts.'

And our GM fell for it and made an impulse buy on draft day.

BOOM! when 'our' GM is fixated on a player Game-Over!

I think it was more than impulse. Jerry could just picture Big Hair Big Belly's Defense with Mo and Carr and thot that might be the "piece" we needed to compete and contend. Jerry going for broke like we were that one player away. I imagine he had visions dancing around in his head of a Deion II kinda thing.

When in reality it was just the Blue Label talking :banghead:

I'm afraid you're right. Anthony Henry, however, was an excellent corner in my opinion. Mo looks terribly awkward, and lost. This guy is a major bust. I can't even see him starting anew with another team and succeeding. He looks unnatural, and plain goofy out there. I'm afraid he isn't very bright either. How the heck does this happen? (from college to draft to pros) What/how did he manage to conceal this all that time and be drafted/coveted so highly? Props for the INT today, but that was a gimme and can't be allowed to overshadow his apparent ineptitude throughout the rest of the game.

The main problem I see with Mo is that he just doesn't know how to play the ball when its in the air. He would pause for a split second and wait to see where the ball is going and then react. On the other hand, Henry has that instinct of where the ball was going to and would instantly react even before it got there.

Its called football instincts. Sean Lee has it. Mo doesn't. Thats why he is so bad.

I'm for cutting him really. Or at least bench him. Its really time we trim the fat and go into another direction. Garrett should take a stand and do it without permission from Jones. That would make me respect Garrett a little more because that would take balls. But of course, that is what a real coach would do.

I watched enough film of him before the draft. I just could not see why people were saying he was a shutdown corner. All of his INTs in college were of lower competition and the QB just throwing it up for grabs. I saw nothing in Deion in him.

Didn't the Cowboys view him as the best corner back prospect since Deion Sanders?

That was pre-McClay, I'd love to get a peek at McClay's notes from that pre-draft evaluation---probably as lost as a lot of Hard drives these days

For the same reason that Garrett is still coaching in the NFL, Jerry doesn't want to admit that he made a mistake.

I disagree. Mo has a cap friendly deal and Carr does not. Mo is young and was banged up last year, there is no reason why he can't improve by end of the year. He's not playing as bad as the attacks suggest.

in 2015 our corners will be Mo and Scandrick...Sterling Moore in the slot
