Now I really want to cut Crawford, give his money to Clowney for a 1 year rental, then move on with a 3rd.Doing this deal would be all about trying to get a 3rd comp pick for him.
Nope.Give him Crawford's money.
No need to complicate it.
Buyer Beware on Clowney. With all that talent, how come he hasn't had a 10 sack season? Why have 2 separate teams decided not to retain him? In my opinion, he's like David Irving, flashes such athletic ability, but is always hurt and inconsistent. Much rather do a 1 yr deal on Everson Griffin if they decided to sign another DE.
We already have waaaay too many Defensive Ends on the roster.......and only $11 million left in the kitty.
Probably waiting to see what happens in camp.Nope.
They have to have some other plan about Crawford.
If after him missing last year with his injury, having been in a bar fight and all the changes with staff and schemes..
you would have thought he would be on their fringe plans.
But still he remains untouched.
I don't get it.
Crawford still being on the roster is almost unbelievable.
Even stranger that people believe Crawford brings anything comparable to what the Cowboys are paying him.Strange that Jaylon and Vander looked like superstars with Crawford there, and then when quinn comes in and is bad at run stopping, they don't look so good
On a one year deal in a heart beat. This is the kind of thing we should be seeking out. Infinitely better than any other option we currently have opposite Lawrence. Hungry and on a one year deal could be scary.
I don't get it either RE. We aren't alone either. Keep your fingers crossed that McCarthy can see the whole picture and do the right thing.I don't get it.
Doing this deal would be all about trying to get a 3rd comp pick for him. If he would accept a 1 year deal for $7-8 million, you could then try and set him up for success and hope someone gives him a huge deal next year. The only real cost would be whichever bottom of the depth chart DE you might not be able to sneak to the PS. I’d at least be intrigued by this situation but I’d like the Gregory and Adams things to resolve themselves first.
Is that supposed to be a bad thing? We already have waaaay too many Defensive Ends on the roster.......and only $11 million left in the kitty.
Ya, but if its not already a top payed house hold name, than we have nothing at RDE.Exactly. I like Aldon Smith and Gregory. We have two draft picks from last year, one this year, and Armstrong as well. And, of course, Tank has one of the spots nailed down.
And if we’re keeping it real, Clowney didn’t exactly light the world on fire last year in Seattle.
If you compare Tyrone Crawford to Tyron Smith .. don't leave, don't dismiss this yet.. just take the time to think about this.Interesting. Caveat emptor.
Not at all. It's actually a good thing, but we have other positions of need we can try to fill in instead of at DE.Is that supposed to be a bad thing?
That was my pointNot at all. It's actually a good thing, but we have other positions of need we can try to fill in instead of at DE.
When Craw his healthy those LBs love him, Craw is the garbage man, that gets run into, not about highlight reels to benefit contract extension, Craw is in there to take on OL and be a bodyguard for his LBs.Strange that Jaylon and Vander looked like superstars with Crawford there, and then when quinn comes in and is bad at run stopping, they don't look so good
