Yes, and things have been done so "right" the last TEN years. LOL. Perhaps the team would be well advised to start consulting Philo Beddoe.

Give Jerry a call then, see what he thinks.

Good luck to you.

If you get a job, maybe you can hook me up with some tickets.

Which teams are worse off than Dallas at backup QB????

OK, well, I suppose I can pull up all the back-ups and compare them. Rather lengthy but I'll do it. However, it's just as easy for you to go to NFL.com and review who is backing up on what teams. Here you go.

Baltimore Boller - Dallas
Cincy Wright - Dallas
Cleveland Dorsey - Dallas
Denver I don't know - Dallas
Houston Van Pelt - Dallas
Indy Sorgie - Indy
Jax Garrard - Jax
KC Croyle - Dallas
Miami Harrington/Lemon? - Dallas
NE Cassel - NE
Jets Clemons - Jets
Oakland Brooks/Tui? - Dallas
Chargers Volke - Chargers
Titans Collins - Titans ?
Az Warner - Az?
Atlanta Shocky - Dallas
Carolina Weinke - Dallas
Chicago Griese - Chicago
Lions McCown - Dallas
GB Bouman/Rodgers - Dallas
Vikes Bollinger - Dallas
Saints Martin - Dallas
Giants Lorenzen/Hasselbeck - Dallas
Philly Feeley - Dallas
SF Dilfer - Dallas ?
Seattle Wallace - Dallas
Rams Ferotte - Dallas
Bucs Ratty - Dallas ?
Skinz Brunell - Dallas.

Now, this is obviously a personal evaluation but even if you disagree with half of my evaluations, that's still half the league that have worse situations then we do. Personally, I think these evaluations are pretty good. I believe we are in a much better situation then most teams in the NFL at backup.

Has anyone besides me noticed that when someone thumps their chest about how much they know and how the team really should listen to them that they are incapable of ever backing up their stance?

It's like the Internet version of impotence. I wonder what the Internet version of Viagra is?

Will do. Actually, I have lived in the Metroplex before and have no desire to return there. Perhaps I could be a long distance consultant. I promise you my drafts would be better than what we've seen for the last decade plus.

I promise that if I was voted NFL Commish I would make sure that the Cowboys were the only NFL team awarded an unlimited cap space every year.

But since both of us know that neither of those things will happen it is just a waste of time.

These situations are still fluid with the draft and training camp cuts coming up.

Obviously you're a wealth of knowledge as evidenced by your rock-solid case against Brad Johnson.

If you put as much research into the draft as you did into your 'bash Brad' campaign, the Cowboys should be in great shape!

It'll be a cold day in hell before any GM or owner in the National Football League asks you for advice on how to run their team.

There is nothing wrong with bashing Brad. Most people easily see his limitations. It is the other QBs that are brought up as better options than Brad that is amusing. Some of these other so called better options are laughable. And other QBs that are brought up just are not obtainable and therefore are not true options for Dallas. The NFL is a league short on quality QBs. Not every team is going to be able to land two of them. Some teams can't even get one.

Doesn't matter. The NFL and its fans have been right about Ricky Ray and that's all that truly matters.

Obviously, friend. Noone is trying to force you into anything. It was a simple request, and IMO with just a quick glance at some of the backup QBs who have been pressed into duty, and their subsequent records - you could very quickly generate an expectation for Brad Johnson. I assumed this was how you came to your conclusion.

The only thing I'm asking for is your basis for this informed opinion. Certainly your history here dictates that we grant your opinion enormous respect, but sometimes we like to see some backup information before OUR minds are made over.

I'm very near to your way of thinking, friend. Your arguments are starting to sway me. A factual breakdown like the one I've requested (I assume you have this handy, given your strong feelings on the subject) could just be the straw that breaks the proverbial camel's back. I look forward to seeing your findings.

Make it a great day.

^^^^^Just thought I'd remind you, friend.

I understand you're busy - as am I - the grading for this hotel site is killing me (we're gonna need lots of retaining walls) and the new site plan regs from the Berkeley County Planning Commission require us to update EXISTING plans! Can you believe it?)

Be that as it may - this comparative analysis would go a long way towards explaining in full your distaste for Brad Johnson. Is it his sub-par record when coming in as a backup, due to injury to the starter - as would be his role here?

Really looking forward to that analysis, friend.

Make it a great day.
