No. "LOL" is fairly current. Do you still use the term "groovy" too? LOL:eek:

No, it isn't.
You and your 'brother' both look like :mule: :mule: when you use it.

But by all means continue.....

Very good point, joseph. And I think that's why folks are somewhat ok with the Johnson signing. When looking at the other options out there, they're not all that appealing.

I'd rather not. I'm sure you'll keep us updated, though.
Copy that. You can count on it.:starspin

the train has left the station. we have already signed brad and it would cost too much to cut him now. does'nt really matter who wouild be a better option, brad is here. i think drafting a young guy to develope would be a good idea but we have a backup. like him or not he is here and we don't need another vet backup unless it's someone with the potential to develope into a starter in the future.aND I DON'T SEE MANY OF THEM OUT THERE

Why? Are the Edmonton Eskimos going to cut him too?
Heavens no. Why would they release the best QB in the CFL? That wouldn't make any sense.:)

Ray is under contract up in Edmonton this season. He's had quite the stellar career up there you know.
If you hurry, you could persuade Ricky Ray in continuing his career up north. Or, you can pay his unemployment until he reaches Brad Johnson's age. Your choice.

CFL means nothing, few guys who play in the CFL will ever make it to the NFL, a small number of guys have but for the most part the CFL players are not good enough to even be backups in the NFL. 2 different leagues with 2 very different talent levels which is why they are stuck north of the boarder instead of playing in the NFL. So when you brag about his CFL career who cares that means nothing at all.

The only Qb I can think of that came from the CFL and had a great career was Warren Moon and Ricky Ray is no Warren Moon.

He could walk at any time to go to the NFL and has and has been released by the Jets.

FYI - updating forum consists of posting actual news or background material concerning the topic. Whining doesn't count.

Fluite as well. Guys do make it out of the CFL but percentage wise not many. The only league that even came close to the NFL was the USFL

How is that analysis coming? You clearly have quite a bit of time on your hands currently, as you have responded to every single post in this thread BUT mine.

It is a simple request, and honestly doesn't take much digging, as - IIRC - it was but two years ago when Brad Johnson had to come off the bench for an injured Daunte Culpepper. If we could just see his record in that situation, and compare it to other backup QBs pressed into duty, I'm sure alot of us would be convinced to follow your line of thinking, and heck - maybe even some would satrt to come around on Ricky Ray.

I look forward to you responding to my post with the care and dignity you have addressed nearly every response in this thread with.

Make it a great day.

It makes as much sense as him landing in the NFL.

Go ahead and laugh, but Tommy Maddox would have been a better option.

I will laugh. You talk about back ups with upside. Maddox has none. He will be 36 when the season starts. He lost his back up spot in Pittsburgh. His two great seasons(2002-2003) were not all that great and he was the starter at that time.

As a back up in 2004 and 2005 he has come into games and done nothing. This was after losing his starting gig to a rookie. He completed less than half of his passes, thrown more interceptions than TDs and single handidly lost games for Pittsburgh.

Yes, I will laugh. From starter(2004), to back up(2004-2005), to off the team(2006) in 3 years. He couldn't even stay on as the 3rd string guy and no other team picked him up in 2006. That is quite a trend full of upside.

This would interest me as well. It's an honest question and deserves a response.

These situations are still fluid with the draft and training camp cuts coming up.

How many QBs are going to be taken in the draft? I mean, it aint going to change that much but even if it does, you can only base things on what is relivant to the hear and now. You can't base evaluations of this kind on what might happen because there is just as good a possability that those things might never happen.

In short, we are not in as bad a situation with Johnson as you believe us to be. Of course, that is only my opinion.
