When Jerry was throwing contracts around like chicklets, people said that he was paying too much.

Now that Stephen and Garrett have gotten that spending under control, they're too miserly with their money.

You can't please everyone I guess. What I do know is that the way the franchise is being run now is light years better than what happened between Jimmy Johnson and Jason Garrett.

I love Suh and think the team should try to get him... but they won't and as much as I want him in Dallas, I agree 100% with how they currently do things.

I'm not going to complain selectively when they don't sign someone I want or if they take too long to sign a player I want signed.

Good move by Cobb and good move by the Packers. He could have got more from a team like the Raiders, but that would be career suicide for him. He's more valuable to the Packers and his career will continue to progress with Rodgers.

Ask Eric Decker how life away from a Hall of Fame QB is.

Or maybe he just wasnt getting the 12mil he was wanting. Im willing to bet they came in lower than that. Probably more than 10 but not 12 or he wouldve taken his asking price.

Voice of reason. Absolutely. After signing Jay Ratliff, Miles Austin, and Marion Barber to big contracts, its good to see us being a bit more frugal. We are trying to decrease the amount of dead money on the books on a yearly basis.

Or he could have gotten the offer of 12 from another team but realized an extra 2 mil a year isn't worth leaving Rodgers and that offense

No it does not help our position. R. Cobb aint no Dez. Dez is a touchdown Machine.pay the man his money.

He isn't worth 30M+ guarantee given the market contract that just got set. If he wants 25M he's got a case for that. Any more the Cowboys can just franchise tag him the next two years.

Cobb is only 24. Barring injury he's going to get every penny of that 40m.

Great contract for him.

Randall Cobb is getting paid, and he won't have to pack up and move to earn his future checks.

The wide receiver has agreed to a four-year, $40 million contract with $17 million guaranteed to remain with the Green Bay Packers, NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reported, per a source informed of the deal. Cobb had six to seven offers on Saturday and turned down considerably more money elsewhere to sign with the Packers, where he felt comfortable, Rapoport added.

After a career season in which he caught 91 passes for 1,287 yards and 12 touchdowns, Cobb was considered one of the premier players set to hit free agency and ranked fourth on Around The NFL's Top 101 free agents.

Around The NFL will have more on this shortly.

Both the Cobb and Ingram contracts are not shockers.
If anything, you could say both the teams got slight home-town discounts

I don't think this changes much with a Dez contract too much. It may bring down the guaranteed money some but that may be it.

Taking considerably less money, to stay and play for the team that drafted him. A place where he feels comfortable. Fans who advocate that we sign Dez no matter what, don't understand the business and do very little to promote him being able to return on a team friendly deal.

Kareem Jackson got 20 million guaranteed. Yes, I can't believe it either. Cobb who has 1 good year and played mostly in the slot is now making 10 million a year and he probably left money on the table. Just wait till McCourty and Maxwell sign a deal.

Cobb- 91 catches 1,287 yards 12 touchdowns
Bryant- 88 catches 1,320 yards 16 touchdowns

While Cobb is not quite on Dez level, he's a big time player. That contract was good for both sides.

I don't think anyone is debating if Cobb is a better receiver than Dez. But I think Cobb is better than your average #2. He and Jordy Nelson are 1a and 1b in my opinion. Looks like Green Bay agrees. They could have let Cobb go and gave the #2 job to Davante Adams. All of us should know who he (Adams) is by now.
