The heavy HGH users I know all had their hands, feet, heads grow.
The heqavy Roids users I know just grew:)

The real heavy HGH and Roid users looked a bit like Henry, yes.

Henry is more reminiscent of what an anabolic steroid user might look like. Go down to your local power lifting gym (not Lifetime Fitness or Golds, the real deal) and shake hands with some guys. Their hands are thick, solid muscle, but usually disproportionately small in length. I am 6' with slightly above average hands and my hands swallow many power lifters hands of my height.

Obviously nothing is 100% tried and true. My observations are just based off of working in the power lifting/gym industry as well as my time as an athlete.

Clearly genetics has a lot to do with it too. It's just hard to ignore when a guy shows literally every known side effect of PEDs/Steroids. I would all but guarantee he's used Antler velvet. It was huge in his area while he was in HS.

please tell me you're joking.

most body builders have shorter, squatter frames because long frames make muscles look smaller/thinner. meaning, if you're tall and narrow, you're still going to look thin (by comparison), even if you have a lot of muscle. so, you're not going to become a body builder.

a lot of power lifters have shorter, but thicker bones, but they have advantages in leverage.

i don't want my athletes to look like jj walker, just because he has long, spindly fingers.

DYNOMITE!!!

This was amazing to me.

I guess it really is a meat market and it makes you feel bad for these 20 something kids running through this kind of thing.

Which why I didn't just say "small". I said disproportionate to their bodies. You know, like a 5'9" man with the hand length of a 5'4" man, etc. Proportionately.

Vernon is a world class headcase. Pass.

Really? I missed that tidbit... can you give an example?... QB head cases are the worst... Jeff George and Ryan Leaf immediately come to mind.

I remember someone once said George had a million dollar arm and a 10 cent brain... and everyone concurred.

What have you heard??

I coached a player who bounced back from Eastern Washington and know a few of their coaches. The book on Adams is that he is overly competitive (which I know doesn't sound like the worst thing in the world) but also shuts down like a child when things don't go his way.

Yes, these poor kids. Auditioning to play football for a living.

Maybe we can put a support group together so they can talk about their feelings.

Pfffffft.

Outside of hand sizes, what's interesting to me is how much bigger guys are getting at the QB position. The majority of these guys are =>230 lbs. which is a lot different than the 200 - 225 range that dominated football in the past.

The thing with Henry is how does he age in the NFL? I can foresee a very Marion Barber-ish type career where the pick looks good initially and then the player falls off a cliff by the end of his first contract. If he is truly a one contract RB, I don't think you want to burn a 1st or 2nd round pick on him. He's straight line-ish, you'll have to worry about his weight. I'm just not all that much of a fan of his NFL potential.

Just say it.

Roger Staubach couldn't play in today's league.
