Ok so is he officially a safety yet though? 6'2 218 with 4.4 speed is not any LB I''ve ever heard of. Wonder what the deal with him being able to play safety actually is?

Linebackers in college are getting lighter and lighter thanks to all the spread offenses. You just do not see 240 lb players all the time. Now he is about 15-20 pounds lighter than most, but linemen are going to have to catch him.

Yeah you think he would have at least made an effort to add weight if he wants nfl teams to look at him as a LB. Shazier at least showed up at 230....of course he didn't run either, which I'm sure had to do with the weight gain.

Think Telvin Smith will end up being a SS, he is the same size as Barry Church

It's not really a deal. He wants to play LB in the Pros but there are a lot of scouts, including people at FSU who thought he could have been a 1st Team All American FS.

Yeah.....but why lol? Not expecting you to have the answer or anything, just doesn't make sense to be. Seems like its not at all in the best interest of his career for him to stick at LB because A) he's going to eliminate himself from the board of every 3-4 team because there's just no where for him to play and B) he'd be foolish to think it won't hurt the longevity of his career to play LB in the NFL at less than 220 pounds. He's only going to be able to take so many hits from a 320 lb pulling guard with that frame.

Who knows what he's telling teams in interviews though. I highly doubt he'd be dumb enough to tell a team he has 0 interest in playing safety for them.

He's a kid. He wants to play LB, I'd imagine, because everybody has probably told him he can't. I mean, it really doesn't matter. Once he's drafted, he's going to play where ever the team that drafts him wants him to play. If that's LB, so be it. If it's Safety, then it's Safety. I'm not really to worried about it. This kid is one heck of an instinctive football player. He's going to help whatever team drafts him IMO.

So a very impressive # no one has talked about....at 6'4 270+ lbs Kony Ealy had the 4th best 3 cone drill today at 6.83. Khalil Mack had a 7.08. That drill is all about short area quickness and ability to change direction, both extremely important for a DE getting to the QB.

He's admittedly raw but he should definitely be in the discussion at #16.

Don't like him. He is not all that great against the run. He just doesn't show up when he gets handled physically against the run. JMO

I'm not even going to argue that, but he's got such a high ceiling he's hard to ignore. That big of an athlete isn't exactly easy to come by.

And while we're at it...How does everyone feel about Trent Murphy at DE? 250 is a little light, but his #'s were pretty much elite level on par with Barr except the 40. And better college stats in the same conference

Bar, I think, is a DE all the way. I don't think he's an OL in a 34. Murphy is interesting but he's pretty slow. Not big enough to stand up against the Strong Side, not quick enough to play the weakside DE. Not fast enough to play LB. Didn't really show well at the Sr. Bowl against a lot of those Tackles.
