For me, Dr. Henry Pym will always remain on this list. One of the things I have disliked about the MCU was changing the original creator of Ultron, Pym, to Tony Stark. I think an argument could be made that his intelligence and sometimes mental instability made him one of the most dangerous individuals ON that list.

She looks the part, but I'm not at all familiar with her work.
That goes for me too. I checked out her IMDB page. She has been in a couple of Mission: Impossible films but I am more than several movies behind in that franchise.

I do remember her in Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw. She did not really stand out in the movie in my opinion but that should not color my opinion of her potential as Susan Storm though. I should have learned my lesson with Gal Gadot. I did not think very much of her in Fast & Furious either. Then she knocked my socks off as Princess Diana, lol.

The 15 Darkest Marvel Comics Ever

By Mayra Garcia | CBR
July 30, 2023

<snip>

Marvel's most mature stories are usually explicitly violent and include graphic content. However, violence isn't the only trait that makes a comic dark. These comics explore mature topics of all kinds. They sometimes delve into the very core of human nature. What truly makes these the darkest Marvel comics is the profound despair and hopelessness they convey.

Updated on July 30th, 2022 by Mayra Garcia: Contrary to popular belief, comics aren't for kids. In fact, plenty of Marvel comics would traumatize a minor due to the kind of topics they touch. This list has been updated to add more stories that remind fans Marvel can be bleak too.

:hammer:

My choice would be any issue from the Age of Apocalypse mini-series. I can still see pages from various issues in my mind's eye. Genocide. Slavery. Human experimentation and torture. That series covered some dark topics within its what if.

One of the best crossover series of all time in my opinion. Even little details like why and how did Wolverine lose a hand was outstanding.

Another one I just thought about ..

XMEN: FATAL ATTRACTIONS
- Magneto rips out Wolverine's adamantium from his bones
- Professor Xavier totally loses it and mentally scrambles and Lobotomizes Magneto's brain.

Not I would rate it as one of the darkest but I will say the artwork showing Magneto savagely leeching the metal out of Logan was legendary.

I am trying to remember. Didn't Xavier's attack on Erik happened BEFORE the creation of Onslaught? I think I remember that confrontation contributed to the villain's eventual birth.

That reminds me to continue to pursue that Age of Apocalypse series again. (I lost items in a apt. fire a bit over 20 years ago)

And I was also hoping Disney Plus would conjure up animated series of Age of Apocalypse, Inferno Crossover and Days of Future Past.

Those would be... HUGE production endeavors for Disney+ to get behind right now. Assembling the necessary art personnel alone would be a serious undertaking.

Don't get me excited about those possibilities. I am happy enough that we are finally getting X-Men '97 soon. :muttley:

Yes, i believe you're right. @DallasEast

In fact I was made aware that it was because of Xavier's coma-attack on Magneto, that it actually led to the birth and creation of
Onslaught,- who is another being I'd wish Disney/Marvel would implement him in on an animated series. (along with Black Queen Selene)

I loved the Inferno Crossover, but @DallasEast said it was only OK so now I hate it.
Super sucks.

I think NOW is the right time for a real and serious adaptation of Cerebus the Aardvark to make the scene and mix this pot of stale comic movies.
Just don't Howard the Duck it please.

A Maus adaptation could be timely in the next year, or 2...

If a great studio could get the rights to Bone, that could be the next Wind In The Willows for a larger audience that it sorely deserves.

Should Disney Marvel decide to produce such series, would you want it per animation series format .. or live action series ?

I would vote animation series because I would be so worried that Disney would blow it with the live action series and place too much budget watch
and restrictions in the live action series, and it would get too watered down with long plodding dialogue, and their usual made for family viewing mode.
I'd love to have these three Marvel series in animation " Batman Ninja " artwork format mode

I want a new and improved Spawn. The movie was good, for its time, and the animated series was great, but imagine what they could do with today's technology.

Ditto here with the Inferno Crossover ... I Luv it !!

I'm even pondering doing an eventual ranking listing on Marvel Comic's best mini-series ever.
Sure 'nuff the aforementioned Marvel mini-series would of course be in there.

I thought I heard they are on such a thing right now.
Maybe I heard wrong, but I agree. A fresh groove on Spawn by some serious film makers would be a cool thing.

I've been more advocating weird and different comics for adaptation lately just for the variety and to show their storytelling potential to the mainstreamers who might not know about them.

Shoot, hardly anybody knew about Hellboy until Guillermo stepped on the scene.

I luv the animation series as it was hard core bloody and violent and pulled no punches.

would you include Spawn allies in them ? Such as Angela ?

My mind goes into automatic realistic expectation mode when considering what ifs. I doubt Disney/Marvel will even dream of producing any of those stories in any format. If they do, it will be well after the introduction of the mutants into the MCU.

Personally, I would side with an animation series format because the possibility of it coming true is much more than a live action. Of course, a well-produced and directed live action version of ANY of those stories would kick donkey butt.

I can't say that I would by hyped about that particular Japanese anime style artwork like Batman Ninja. WAY to expressive for my tastes. I would prefer anime style in the fashion of Fate/Zero, Fate/Zero: Unlimited Blade Works or similar if they went that route.

Clean lines. Significant depth in background. Bold but restrain in color and presentation. I would prefer American style artwork like Young Justice for those stories. Hank McCoy would standout and look good in Batman Ninja format but I would enjoy The Beast drawn more 'normally'. Just my opinion.
