The answer is easy for me. They accepted any submitted screenplay, whether it was good or true to the source material, rarely matched the right director for each production, and hoped whatever was released to general audiences would make money.

They certainly never had a solid plan, and clearly little understanding of or respect for the source material. It was always first and foremost something to be exploited for financial gain.

Yeah, I don't understand how Spidey or Batman can challenge Supes. One heat vision blast from a distance and it's over.

Totally off-topic mini-rant.
Some members may have realized I like occasionally posting animated gifs of Sally Field's Best Actress winning speech that included "You Like Me! You Really Like Me!" She won her award back in 1979.
At first, I was pissed that she won. I was a BIG fan of Bette Midler's performance in The Rose and badly wanted her to win but she lost. Field beat Jane Fonda in The China Syndrome that same season too.
I did not see Field's movie before the awards ceremony though. After I finally stopped being upset, I watched Norma Rae. Found out if was a really good movie and Field was absolutely great in it.
Field was beyond ecstatic at finally winning her first Oscar after. She had wanted to be taken as a serious actress for a long time. I joke whenever I post her moment of triumphant but it is also my way of remembering and honoring her too. She deserved her moment and I will never forget it.

You are correct about the 'you really like me' part but she did begin with 'you like me'.
And my dementia set in. It was for Places In The Heart. Not Norma Rae.

They did, but Supes never attacked from a distance. He could have done the heat vision, or he could have dropped the Statue of Liberty on him.

As far spidey, hes battled several super beings that were infinitely stronger than he was , ala juggernaut, hulk, etc.and still managed to hold his own
And with his spider senses elusive speed reflexes and leaping abilities, hes been dodging and jumping around several deadly laser beams since...... forever?

I'm a huge Spidey fan, in fact, he's always been my favorite. But he had trouble with Doc Oc, Green Goblin, Rhino, etc., none of whom even compare to the superspeed, strength, heat vision, freeze breath, and flight of Superman.
Looking at it objectively, and not from a story writer's perspective, the man of steel would destroy Spider-Man and Batman at the same time. Batman might have a little better chance, if Supes wasn't really paying attention.

If batman has high resistance armor to counter heat beams or cold freezing breath, how can superman harm him close up or far distance?

High resistance armor vs. the Statue of Liberty or just a big boulder from 1000 ft.? How about Superman comes up at him from deep underground and lets him drop 2 miles into the Earth, then buries him? Hit him with a wrecking ball at 500 m.p.h. and it won't matter how high the armor's resistance is. His brain will be smashed on the inside of his skull.

I have to say the opposite, if it's a surprise attack. Spider-man's Spidersense and Super Reflexes trumps Bat's reflexes. As far as if they know it's coming, Batman might have the edge.

The Comics Code Authority was launched in the early 1950's. For almost two decades, comics publishers 'obeyed' its regulations, resulting in many stories that were lighthearted and cute. The nonsense even spawned idiocy like the "Batman! Batman! Batman! na na na na na na na NA! Batmaaaaaaaan!" television series. Its foolish influence was gradually abandon by publishers starting in the mid-70's.
I bring this up because of the Superman versus _________ discussion. I agree that Kal-El would decimate Spider-Man, Batman, whomever but the particular issue @quickcc initially introduced was published during the Code era. And in that era, Superman did not severely injure or kill opponents. That was not true before the Code was implement and after the Code was mostly abandoned. Supes un-alived a few folk in late 1930's and 1940's. He has broken his personal 'will not kill rule' (that was adopted during the Code era) several times since publishers re-asserted their creativity. Heck, old Supes had killed several times in the two decades prior to some moviegoers freaking out seeing Henry Cavill snap Michael Shannon's neck in Man of Steel, lol.
Just saying. When that issue hit newsstands, Superman would not have eye-beamed anyone into charcoal, froze anyone's body solid with super cold breath, threw an oil tanker on their head, etc. That was not how the character was portrayed at that time. Nowadays? Sure. Cavill should have punched Ben Affleck's head clean off his neck in Batman v. Superman. Old Ben should have been a huge grass burn in Justice League but Lois saved him from a fiery death just in time.
