while I am having as much fun with the 41-0 thumping and seemingly poor preseason the Skins have had as anyone is, you have to remember that in 1991 the Skins had a similar preseason and were pretty poor looking...then they won 14 games and the super bowl

not saying that will happen with this bunch, but its just another reminder of how preseason isnt always a tell-all about a teams chances once the real games start

that said...If I was a Skins fan I'd be pretty worried about this yr

If our starters had played this bad in the pre-season we'd already have mass suicides on the board.

Agreed.

We win and we still have people complaining about this or that.

On a side note, can't make skins fans feel good with their play thus far no matter how many ways they sugar coat it.

One thing I will say, no matter how bad they have looked this pre-season, I just don't think they will look as bad once the regular season starts. They may not look great but I just don't see them looking as bad.

True but I don't think we would have blamed it on voodoo, lol.

In rebuttal, I offer this:

Ah, not so fast. This from a Chargers blog:

A look at the numbers suggests that NFL preseason games are important:

- Last year’s four championship-game teams had a .688 preseason winning percentage (11-5).
- Five of the past six Super Bowl champions had winning preseason records, two going 4-0 and three 3-1.
- The past 10 Super Bowl champs have compiled a .707 preseason winning percentage (29-12).

The only thing I can figure is they're struggling to get a grasp on Saunders' offense, which is rather complex...

Then there's the fact their QBs suck...

You know I am not really sure it is Voodoo...seeing as it was american indians that did the curse.

Hmm...I wonder if they had a thread debating voodoo vs indian practices on that board.

Maybe Joe or Danny should start one to distract the posters for a few. :laugh2:

Native American curses vs. masterful facades? Beautiful.

Can't you just hear Gibbs?

"Men I want you to allow this FG to be blocked. Don't you eyeball me boy, I said let the field goal be blocked. It's all part of the master plan.

"We need to be ready to experience every detail of the upcoming season and that means understanding how to overcome blocked field goals. It is vital to our success to learn this lesson men.

"You can do it. Don't let me down. Allow that field goal to be blocked. You'll be a better team for it in the long run.

"It's all part of the masterful facade.

"Okay, who wants Koolaid?"

Maybe they snuck little Danny into a uniform to do the FG to make sure it got blocked.

Don't know if other people have heard the story but at one time, not sure if it was when Norv or Marty was the coach, Danny was on the field during preseason practice.

I guess he and the coach were watching the kickers doing FGs and Danny must have figured it could not be that hard.

So he tried and from what I remember failed.

So sometimes when I see danny I think of Charlie Brown going for the field goal and the ball being pulled from him resulting in him falling on his butt.

I made the same point a while back. The NFL in 1991 is dramatically different from today's NFL. IMO, preseason play is more indicative of what is to come.

Now don't get me wrong I don't think they are a two win team but they should be worried because by all indications their defense is not jelling and their offense is well offensive.

Their vets mailed this one in. Probably not very indicative of how the regular season will go, but worrisome none the less, particularly on a team that likes to tout its 'character.'

Good image of Napoleon Snyder as Charlie Brown. I think he was a kicker. Must be why I don't like him.

Looking back at the 2 threads debating Native American curses and Masterful facades I am left with only one question about those two theories. Which one did Lloyd author and which one did Harry author?

Man, I remember that commercial. I always loved it.
Some could say that the Commander players are playing like litter so far this preseason. Iron Eyes Cody would be a perfect spokesman for their level of play right now.

Or he could put a hell of a curse on them. :lmao2:

That bunch stays on this site. Where are they now, its only preseason. Their starters have looked like crap all preseason long. Gibbs called his starters out after last weeks ugly performance and they still didn't show. Preseason or not, 41-0 is terrible.... I love it!!!!!

I don't get it. You guys complain about them being here, then start threads inviting them to speak up?
