Putting labels on qbs on who they should/must be like is not good. Hope our scouts dont' use this logic.

I hope they do use that logic because they would be looking for franchise QB's and not L. Russell or Joey Harrington or Heath Shuler.

Sure. Might as well use that logic for the entire draft. Since it's 100% fullproof.

I don't think they take a QB at 4 if RGIII signs.

They go DL/CB/Lber,

Their lies the problem.....there is no plan to develop a QB after Romo unless Jerry Jones is gambling that RGme is the future
How many coaches, QB's and years did it take for this team to find a QB. Simple answer to many,

They DID NOT use a 1st round pick on any QB after Aikman...in fact NONE in 20years..... instead chose to GAMBLE on...Ryan Leaf Clint Storener, Chad Hutchison, Quincy Carter, Drew Bledsoe, Drew Henson and Vinny Testaverde......all they did was keep throwing DARTS at the wall hoping to get lucky.

This Team has their best shot to draft a franchise QB in the last 20years..........I dont want to this franchise to Gamble on another has been QB....draft one in the 1st round and develop him.....even if that means trading down.....Stop Gambling on has been players and build this team for the long haul.

Drafting a QB high in the draft should be a priority no matter who they sign. There's nothing wrong with an insurance policy of signing a free agent quarterback, but that should have no impact at all on the draft.

Agreed. I want both but would I be surprised if we're comfortable with just the free agent QB? I wouldn't. They believe Romo has years left. If they sign Griffin it can only mean they believe he can be a successful starter as well. They're going to add a 4th overall pick to that mix? I doubt it.

I don't trust the cowboys scouting department.

They have been on target with their 1st rounders lately save Mo Claiborne. And I'm not convinced that if he ever can stay healthy he won't be very good as well.

I think you do, and you develop him a year or 2 and you fleece the crap out of another team for 80 draft picks with him. A La Matt Flynn lol

The Cowboys aren't built like that. We have no "quarterback whisperer" here. I don't trust Wade Wilson or Jason Garrett to coach up a QB.

Well, better RGIII than Manziel, at least he played well in his rookie season. I think he could make a decent career in Dallas.

Since Griffin's first season injury, he has proven nothing. *If* the Cowboys sign him, I imagine it would be to a cut-friendly contract and I would go into it assuming he will be cut after training camp unless he proves he still has some potential.

They may believe Romo has years left, but the body of an NFL player can age rapidly after injuries. Look at Peyton Manning for example. If Romo can avoid injuries, it's quite possible he plays another 3-4 years with at least 1-2 at a high level the Cowboys need. However, Romo's 2015 season reminded a lot of people that he's not a 20-something player any more and that the Cowboys need a replacement (not backup, but replacement) if Romo goes down for an extended period of time. The Cowboys have to know that relying on Romo to be healthy all season is a foolish strategy. They need to look at every season Romo has left in him as a bonus, not a given.

Great, can't wait. I hope my faith in Romo is rewarded. Lord knows if we couldn't win with below average QB last year, no way will we win with a total garbage QB like RG3. What a waste of space he would be on this team.

Yeah, like Romo has lead us anywhere.

A couple playoff wins, and a few "hey we almost made it to the playoffs".

Yeah we are so better off with Romo and company.

It's looking like Wentz is going number 2, id actually want to sign Griffin over Manziel reason being that he guy never became a distraction while being benched and even inactive for games over at Washington. He can come in with a chip on his shoulder and learn everything he can from Tony. As much as I like Manziel and being from Texas, think the attention and negative things he would bring is uncalled for for a back up QB. If someway some how he would stop doing his immaturity stuff then you can consider but for now he could be out of the league with another incident. Then again if there is someone who just kept talking about him in radio shows all season was Mr. Jerry who he even said he was going to stop talking about it cause he didn't want no tampering charges.

It's not enough to be drafted in the 1st round.

They have to be good enough to be a top-10 QB in the NFL.

And if the Cowboys do not feel that any of the three can do that... then go another direction.

Of course it depends on how the scouts grade them out, but you also don't "window dress" your board either. If you have the QBs ranked at the top of the board, then you take them if they are there at 4.

Its like Broaddus has said about the Manzel situation..........Jerry has admitted that he was number one on their draft board, yet declined to take him in the middle of the first. That totally defies the entire purpose of putting a draft board together. If the team was not going to take Manzel (and Jerry has said it was a committee of one, so everybody else was opposed to it), then why the hell was he the first name on the draft board?

He should have been put in the box and had his named removed from the board according to Broaddus, because the number one player on your draft board is who your scouts consider the single best player in the draft. Now if the player is available to you and you choose to pass, then he obviously was not the best player in the draft in your opinion. And if there are other circumstances beside talent that prevent you from taking him, he should have been in the box. Broaddus has said that the Honey Badger was placed in the box due to drugs in college and that is why the Cowboys never took him.

So long story short, you have to draft the board your scouts put together.

You don't even know if the guy is coming here nor what the heck we will do in the draft but you rail away.
