Cooper Rush should have played the 4th quarter

How does that make sense given that in several posts I have admitted my mistake in not reading more closely, and did so on my own without anyone calling me out on it? Your logic is flawed. Me making a mistake doesn't somehow mean the thread title wasn't misleading. Both happened.
My logic isn't flawed you just want to throw blame somewhere else besides completely onnyourself. Nobody said both couldn't be true. I just said just because we assumed what the OP meant doesn't make it misleading.

We will agree to disagree, but I think the sheer number of people that took the OP the way I did initially is pretty strong evidence the thread title was misleading.

Not to mention his bad habit of locking on to a receiver in the red zone and throwing untimely picks there.

They have been big momentum killers and let lesser teams back into the game when it should have been blowouts
its twice now he has thrown interceptions in the end zone.

You are absolutely right. I did not read your post fully.

Because it contained Cooper Rush playing in the 4th Quarter, Super Bowl Roster, and no logic for football. I did not read it fully.

However, my response is still the same. The reason is the Saints lite up the Eagles horrible secondary, Dallas beat the Saints high flying offense, and Dallas beat the Eagles again. What does that have to do with you wanting to see the Cowboys beat the defending Super Bowl Champion Eagles by 35 points to see Cooper Rush play. It will never happen with Jason Garrett and Scott Linehan as HC and OC. You want to see Cooper Rush that bad. Then get a sideline pass and stand there with him the whole game.

You only have to win a football game by 1 point. Dak and the Cowboys won by 6 points even with Dak turnovers, and Dak big plays. Dak has a CDL license were he drove a bus in the first half, a clown car in the second half but switch out on the back stretch into the Ferrari and won by 6 points. Emphasis on the word WON.
your last statement is the testament on why needs a strong supporting cast for him to succeed. he has to show the ability to put games away in the first 3 quarters and not squander opportunities and put the team in a situation to make 4th quarter heroic comebacks to win...which is something we do consistently. these things have a way of evening out over time.....right now we are riding a bit of luck but luck runs out eventually....

For three quarters, my section at the stadium was just shaking our heads in disgust and frustration.

Amari Cooper was wide open the entire football game. I mean WIDE OPEN all damn game long. He could have had 500 yards receiving by the end of the 3rd quarter. Even he was visibly frustrated at the lack of throws his way. The Philadelphia secondary is just putrid. They couldn't cover me.

Cooper Rush should have played the 4th quarter because this game should have been 35-3 by then. Dallas had all the possession, and the defense had the Philly offense tied in knots. Wentz looked bad, they couldn't run, first downs were incredibly hard to come by, and their defensive backfield was a makeshift band of gypsies.

It took a 62-yard field goal after a horribly mismanaged late drive in the half to be up a lousy 6-0. You have to try really, really hard not to be up three touchdowns in that game by halftime.

Dak throws a bad interception, followed by a an even worse interception, followed by a brainless fumble, followed by missed opportunity after missed opportunity....and suddenly, this thing is 9-9 only by the luck of a missed extra point.

"How is this possible?" we all stared at each other. "We should be in our cars headed home already."

Then, Dak drops a beautifully thrown ball to Cooper in the end zone, and it's back on track for the moment. However, he misses Gallup on two easy touchdowns running past the Eagles' jokesters for corners. He misses on a throw to Cooper, who fortunately adjusted on the ball for a 75-yard score as whoever "Bausby" is runs out of bounds. LOL, good corner you've got there, Philly!

Finally, after a nice drive in overtime, ping, pong, the game is over. Lucky touchdown, but the proper end to a nutty game. The Cowboys now have the awful NFC East pretty much on lockdown.

This game summed up Dak perfectly. Horrific interceptions, missed opportunities, bad fumbles, a few tremendous catches by receivers, and a few really well-thrown balls against a practice-squad combination of off-the-street defensive backs in a wild and woolly game. That's who we is.

My lone thought after that crazy game.....this is a Super Bowl roster that will have to drag this guy as far as they can take him.

Can a bus driver take a Ferrari to a Super Bowl this season? We'll see.
Great post erod. Wish I was there with you guys at the game!

Awesome post man......just awesome...I wonder if our OC with his vantage point in the booth noticed that both Gallop and Amari was wide open ALL game and instructed Dak to throw to them at half time? Finally, in the 4th they probably demanded that Dak throws the ball deep. Amari made a sweet adjustment on the 75 yard bomb. That TD in OT was pure luck. Amari was actually not open.

He threw two others to Amari that were right into the back of the corner standing directly in front of Amari. If he turns, they're easy picks, too.

Dak threw two great crossing routes to Cooper and Jarwin, and the touchdown in the back corner of the end zone was perfect. Otherwise, he was pretty off all day. The long one to Cooper could have been picked by a real cornerback not named "Bausby".

I actually wasn't nearly as down on his performance as many others were. He's very flawed but he battled and he tried to push the ball down the field all game.

And, if we're being fair, he is clutch. He does elevate his play late in games.

He will never be a great or even good starting QB but I thought this was about the best version of him that we can hope for.
OMG Risen, that is the nicest thing that you have ever said about DP. are you softening your stance on Dak? I like Dak but I am fan of good, sound, and winning football. DP should not be extended this offseason. Let him prove his worth during that final year. He has all the pieces now. He desperately needs hours and hours of film study. He needs to look at Rodgers, Brees, and Brady. Then look at his own film to compare. Then get out onto the field with a great QB coach and his receiving crew. This needs to happen immediately after the season ends and continue till training camp.

Which could be mitigated if Linehan ever realizes that the Redzone is the time to feed Zeke, he is only the best RB in NFL.
he has.. it didn't work. and if we ran all the time, then defenses would just easily negate it...well, wait, they have

No. I would like to ground and pound Prescott at the next UFC pay per view.

Please don't lump me in with the cheerleaders thinking this guy is a franchise QB.

That sounds like a Linehan soundbite. Ignoring Zeke and passing 3 straight times happens much too often in the RZ.

Same issues with the dearth of play action.

The sheer number just means it was a sheer number of half behind readers that's all. I will agree to disagree though.

and we have also tried to run and it failed. we tried running with Dak and it failed..... we have to at some point be able to pass inside the redzone and be successful. Defenses are really playing simple defense against us in the redzone, forcing us to go to the pass by loading the box and not allowing the run. its called balance....lack of balance either way is bad.

Cowboys have no balance in RZ, pass heavy, hence this discourse.
