The good news is that while we’ve seen all the CB’s get beat at some stage, I’m not sure I’ve seen a single blown assignment yet. That in itself is a huge upgrade from last season.

Not sure I have Joseph at 6 but probably no higher than 4
I agree with top 3
The op is going by the two mistakes Joseph made in the Arizona game. Joseph is has the best traits of all the corners on the roster.

So Parsons was a wasted pick?

Of course he is.

Not if you followed the cowboys from 04.2021. But if you followed them for longer an then judge the decissions by our FO he sure is a wasted pick.
We invested enough draft picks into the LB position in the last years so we shouldnt have been in the position to draft a LB.

But then there is SJ and JJ and reality kicks in.

Traits aint gonna make you a good player. Good plays do.

Until he shows that he can use his traits to make good plays he wont be top 2 in the depth chart.

Joseph needs to do better handfighting downfield but it's not like he is giving much separation. Wright had the same issue in the first game.

I'd have it:

Diggs
Canady
Joseph
Wright
Lewis
Brown

Brown is one of the fastest corners on the team.

he’s probably our best.

The corners right now in order:

1. Diggs
2. Wright
3. Canady
4. Lewis
5. Brown
6. Joseph
7. Goodwin

Wright looks impressive, and Joseph is struggling. Canady is a great find and should unseat Lewis as the slot guy. Brown might have a tough time getting on the active roster. Goodwin is the special teams demon.

Too much youth and inexperience here.
Add to the above a weak def-line.
Worried.....:(

Wow. Everybody at camp is applauding Wright and saying Joseph isn't ready. Everybody.

Nobody is saying that except you

I'll fix it for you:

Diggs
Lewis
Joseph
Brown
Canady
Wright
Goodwin

Yes you are right - "we shouldn't be" but unfortunately - we are.

Smith is done for whatever reason, he's done, and LVE is a big hit away from not being resigned, besides his only good year was as a rookie.

Parsons is a difference maker and top 2 CBs were gone.

Right....people have to be careful about the "hype" they see out of camp. Actions speaks louder than words and their actions showed Joseph was starting opposite Diggs.
He will be, and he will suffer the rookie mistakes and get called out early so lets see how he can handle that.
As Diggs and Joseph develop together, so will this secondary, when the back seven starts to develop as a unit, than we can put all the blame on the IDL.. its a never ending cycle.

Lol, There is no way in hell that Joseph is struggling.
1. Diggs
2. Joseph
3. Canady
4. Wright
5. ?
6. ?
Diggs
Joseph/Brown .. This is closer than most want to believe at this point, things can change dramatically by week 1.
Lewis
Wright
Canady

He will get lots of reps so he will have plenty of opportunities to prove it.

joseph did not look good in ariz game , but really after 1 actual PS game I dont see how anyone could
determine how good the rookies are right now.
We wont know till we see them in real games.
They also could get better as season rolls along.

I don't see how anyone could deny this.

The fact he has played so few college games & is doing this well at the pro level in his first camp is a very positive sign.

If he keeps his head on straight & learns the positions, he could be really good.

Anybody that puts Brown on the team isn't a fan. Let alone put him as a starter

Not going that far but Brown gets zero respect, he is closer to the CB2 than most want to admit.

Agreed but he is maddeningly inconsistent at times.

I get the feeling the organization is going to roll with Joseph as the starting outside corner. Live with the youthful mistakes while he develops.

If you dont stand behind your investments than your stock was worthless before you ever bought it.. Diggs and Joseph will be starting, but doesnt mean they get all the snaps, and doesnt mean that the rook keeps that role.
Your probably right that Joseph gets the early nod, but its not a bad thing to have options at CB and not counting Brown out of anything.

remember diggs struggled a bit early was hit and miss and as he got comfortable he got better..KJ has the same tools and hes simply up and down ie inconsistent but hes slightly better then wright IMO as fas as natural coverage skills go etc but yes wrights looking better at the momenet..guess in real games Gamers step up ..i believe KJ is better but this is great situation to have with young dbs playing well, future can be bright..

KJ reminds me bit of Bjones nothing spectacular to the eyes at times but solid in every category athletically etc...its early..2 more weeks etc but i image DQ has an idea of his starters and role guys already..

my take on this is the draft went perfectly the top two CBs not falling to us was blessing getting Parsons, a pick that basically turned into wright and get KJ...we got it all instead of just one of the corners
