Cowboys’ Jourdan Lewis faced previous domestic violence accusation

did you read about the 2 'cases'?

I did. Agreed based on what I read it barely sounds like DV, however, that wasn't my point.

My point is, here on CZ, the first reaction to these kinds of things is often "gold digger", "attention hound", etc and very little room is left for the absolute possibility that some of the players accused are doing the wrong thing.

And the number of women legitimately coming forward after being abused would also be greatly reduced. But I assume that's not your concern as you seem to have a default judgment that the woman must be lying
i hear what you are saying but listen to what you just said. why would the number of women coming forward be reduced? obviouslythere would have to be some evidence of it being a false claim, but if there is then sure women should be responsible for that. Everyone knows already that a man is guilty until proven innocent when it comes to man vs woman in terms of abuse of any kind.
So there needs to be actual evidence for a man or woman to be found guilty otherwise they are innocent.period Better for the guilty to go free than the innocent to be in jail. and to further guarantee against false claims, the NFL needs to only punish a player if the courts do. It is nonsense to punish a player when the legal system doesn't find a need to nor have enough to convict.
I am all for stopping and preventing any form of real abuse by either man or woman, but this story here with Lewis sounds a little fishy on both ends. Since they are now miles apart, that is where it should end.

Where there's smoke, there's fire, and if a woman called police on you before about domestic abuse and you didn't do anything, why would you stay with the woman........

Yo, you two just need to keep away from each other. You are bad to one another and in todays politically correct world, as the man, Lewis will always get the short end of the stick.

this is kind of BS. men don't always get the short end of the stick vs women. So many times a woman is raped or beaten and it goes un-reported out of fear or lack of evidence. in the case of athletes vs. women, athletes definitely don't get the "short end of the stick." when this stuff happens with athletes involved, it can get covered up or brushed under the rug because sports dominates everything.

this isn't to say some women don't lie and try and take advantage. i do believe that's what's happening with zeke. but i do think this is world run by and for men.

who got the worse of it - Joe Mixon or the girl he knocked out?
Brock Turner or the girl he was caught raping? Dude served like two months in prison.
Some women trying to take advantage doesn't mean women always get the justice they deserve.

***I am not saying Lewis is guilty***

you are right.
but it is cases like this one appears to be that undermine the cause of the legitimate cases.
this frankly looks like a waste of taxpayer $ and police resources that can be deployed for real crime.

joe mixon - he responded to the girl hitting him - too much a response, yes but how old was he?
brock turner - no idea but rape is obviously horrible.

In cases where a woman is raped? Is that what we are talking about? I don't think that was the situation here. Please stick to the facts of this case and not get on a tangent that has nothing to do with THIS CASE.

The Dallas Morning News reports that the same girlfriend who is accusing Lewis in this case also called 911 on May 5, 2015 and said the two had a physical altercation.

In that incident, the girlfriend told police Lewis “pushed her backward with both hands,” into closet doors, hard enough that she knocked the doors off their tracks. She also said Lewis grabbed her, pulled her and caused her to fall on her knee. And she said that when she called 911, Lewis hit her hand twice to try to stop her from calling.

Psycho girlfriend most likely.

Either:
1. He did it the first time, so she is psycho to stay with him.

2. He didn't do it and she is psycho for making it up.

Either way, she's psycho. Give her some money and move on.

also it takes almost no force to knock a door off its tracks.
i have done it to many doors many time just by careless slipping
making arguments like that undercut the credibility when she said he hit her.
also she is the one who admitted hitting him.
psycho ***** who knows how the gender game works.

Unfortunately the DAs seem to no longer dump the bad cases.

Yes, women that make up stories are making the situation worse for other women. The more that they make up stories, the less seriously the police take it when the next woman calls.

If the woman in the Mixon case had been a man, people would have laughed and said he deserved to get his arse kicked. Even if the man was a tiny little dude, nobody would have sympathy for him if he initiated the contact.

Mixon probably could have done more publicly to show remorse, but it's difficult to do it without making yourself look guilty.

I'm fairly certain that Greg Hardy's girlfriend set him up because she had a plan to get paid. Regardless, he handled the situation terribly. If he had hired a PR firm, he could have done many things to show that he understands that DV is a serious issue. For the money he could have donated, he could have gotten some group that is against DV to publicly shake hands with him and acknowledge him as a great guy for donating a million to their group/cause.

what is clearly unfair treatment is that the woman can hit the man and it is considered perfectly fine by the police and the law.
it does not matter if one is stronger than the other - it is intent to injure and hurt.

mixon could have handled it better but how old was he?

there is enough unknowns in hardy's case that it is hard to say one way or another.
frankly, he is irrelevant to us at this point.

I can speak from a position of experience in this: Crazy is fun as heck... particularly in the bedroom.

But it can screw up literally everything else. I mean, the whole enchilada.
