CeeDee
OBJ
Gallup
Jalen Tolbert
Draft Pick

I think Tolbert still has a chance to become as good a pre-injury Gallup.

Gallup should be better in 2023; although, I don't know how much better.

A savvy veteran like OBJ (if healthy) is exactly what they needed in 2022.

2024 is too far off

.. i'm far more interested to see what we'll have ready for this upcoming 2023 WR unit class.

We brought in Hilton, Peters, and Hankins, all quality vets, for next to nothing. Positive role models for the younger players, adding a huge wealth of experience. Those are the kinda guys we should get veteran savvy from.

Hilton didn't want to play in 2022 until his son's high school football season ended. His son will still be playing in high school in 2023.
Jerry should make a handshake deal with Hilton to stay in shape and be available for the season.

He was a great deal this year, and I'd be happy with the same deal next year.

OBJ and a wr drafted somewhere within the top 3 picks will go a long way in fixing this positional group. After early look at the draft prospects, see many 2nd rd prospects but not 1 elite one

Ahh, because the guy whose last descent season was in 2019 and has had two ACL tears since, is somehow the answer. The only thing savvy about this cancer is his ability to con teams into continuing to pay him!

At WR, we need:

A route running fiend. No, currently we do not have one on the roster.

A fly guy. Doesn't even have to be great. Hilton is just about done, and was still a huge upgrade.

There are multiple legit 4.3 speed, great route runners in the upcoming draft. But they’re all 5’11 and under - and it seems like the Front Office only likes guys above a certain height. Hopefully they figure out that crisp route running is essential in the modern day NFL.

Yes, he traded him after 2 seasons. That's exactly my point. Cut bait and don't let a roster spot be wasted because you don't want to admit you blew a pick.
I guess I'm confused because Tolbert hasn't even played two seasons...Howie also kept JJ Artega Whiteside for 3 years. Tolbert needs to fail first. He rarely even got on the field.

If the Cowboys don’t modernize their passing scheme, you could bring in 1985 Jerry Rice and and 1992 Michael Irvin and it wouldn’t matter. These simple curl routes they so often run coupled with very few crossing routes put almost zero pressure on the defense. Rarely do we see formations or routes that force the defense into unfavorable matchups.

I‘m more interested in how this passing scheme gets modernized than I am in who‘s lining up at WR next year. We need some more talent at that position for sure.

Never OBJ, under any circumstances. He is still a cancer to the locker room.

They tried to force feed Jalen Tolbert as a rookie and I think it overwhelmed him. If they have him concentrate at one receiver spot and let him work there all offseason and camp I think we will see a different player.

I can't find evidence of that. Teammates seemed to like him and multiple coaches also.

I think people mix up Antonio Brown with OBJ.

Honestly, I think some are focused on his picture on the boat with a few Giants teammates and he threw a few temper tantrums on Giant's sidelines but you're right the cancer thing is way overblown.

Why talk about Jabril Vox in a WR thread?
