The Cowboys will receive a roster exemption once Ezekiel Elliott is removed from the did-not-report list. In order for Elliott to play in Sunday’s season opener against the New York Giants, the Cowboys would have to clear a spot on the 53-man roster by Saturday.

Looks like Dak is on his way out. :muttley:

That works too but wouldn't be as poetic. I now think it's what Dak and Coop should do, just to teach Jerry a lesson.

I believe both players want to have big years to show they are worth what they are seeking, which is to be paid like the top one or two players at their position. Elliott had nothing to prove in that regard.

Elliott led the league in rushing last year by more than 100 yards. Dak was 13th in QB rating. Cooper was 21st in receiving yards and even lower in receptions (in fact, Elliott had more receptions than him). You hold out when you're in a position of strength; neither Dak nor Cooper is. If Dak had led the league in QB rating and Cooper had led the league in receptions or receiving yards, a holdout would make sense for them.

I'm actually kinda glad.

Didn't like holding out with 2 years left on a 34 million dollar guaranteed deal but at the same time the Jones have been running there mouths the last 14 months about "zeke's a cowboy for life" "we have the money already allocated" "Gurley is the starting point for the next deal" so Zeke basically told them "alright show me then"

Front office ran their mouths so Zeke basically made them eat there words. They tried briefly the whole strong arm tough guy but they had already done too much talking, everyone knew they where full of BS
The lessen the Jones boys should have learned from this episode is that they need to shut their mouths when discussing contract negotiations.

Their endless flapping of their gums costs them big time.

50 mill guaranteed isn't a detail?

We don't know the duration, I've heard 3 years, I've heard 5 years. We also don't know what the average is. If those things are in line, then 50 is fine. See, here's the thing, I never once said, don't pay Zeke. In fact, I said just the opposite. The only things I didn't want to see were the team locked in to big money for a long period of time and I didn't want to have to pay Dak a record deal this year. I wanted to pay him in the area of 13 and then do another deal in two years, which actually would have been smarter for Zeke but it is what it is.

See, the problem here is that, like a lot of other posters, you don't read either. Or maybe you do, but you just ignore to try and facilitate a point of view, which is dishonest but hey, we both know that you have a very long history of that so maybe that's it, IDK. Here's the thing thou. I didn't say Detail. I said details.

We all know internet tough guys. Who you going to call a punk and tell them to watch their backs?
Zeke is a punk and he really should watch his back or hire some full-time security. I would hate for something to happen to our expensive RB. I'm just giving him good advise until temperatures cool a little.

It only tops Gurley's in total guarantee because of the length. Not sure many players would have signed a longer deal with less guaranteed than a shorter deal. The fact that it's only $5 million more guaranteed is probably the best part of the deal for Dallas.

Whether I talk about it or not, the animosity is out there. Not my fault you are so ignorant of it. Not everyone loves that fool. You wish I was making threats. I'm just saying those bad feelings are still out there, not from me but from many other pissed off fans.

The team reported 6 year 90 mill, 50 guaranteed.

Like ANY deal the team has written recently, there is going to be a clear out after three years.

Sorry Joe I’m calling bull on this. Unless you’ve taken a poll of the fans out there. Honestly bro you’re the only one I’ve seen verbalizing these thoughts of physical harm over a guy and his job contract dispute with the his employer.

Everything about this is wrong IMO. Dak is the guy in Dallas, like it or not. He has a lot of leverage IMO, in that, he is an FA next year. Unless the Cowboys are willing to tag him, and even then, he has leverage because the Cowboys don't want to use the tag. Cooper has a great deal of leverage because he is clearly the difference in the way the offense performed. Cowboys were .500 before the trade for Cooper, they were 7-3 after and really, 7-1 down the stretch, once Cooper was really into the offense. I think he has tremendous leverage but we'll see. I mean, I get that Elliott just got a new deal but honestly, he had zero leverage. Seriously, that was all Jerry. Jerry did that to do it for Zeke IMO. Illegit child or what, I have no idea but it is what it is.

Then you are an example of how ignorance is bliss. Go with God, my man. You don't know half the things you think you do.
