One of the 3 won’t be signed and CeeDee ain’t one of them….
Based on the new Jerry not throwing money around , I'd be willing to entertain the thought that perhaps 2 won't be signed.

We are now in a state of complete unpredictability here

Sure you can. It's what the Eagles are doing. AJ Brown, for instance, already got an extension with Philly.
Different scenario though. AJ Brown already had multiple years left on his deal as he was on a 4 year deal already. Extending Lamb to a 2-3 year deal setting him up for free agency again after 2026 is just dumb and guarantees that you're forever paying him top of the market. AJ Brown is now very affordable for the next few years.

There's really no reason to pay him. He'll play in the regular season otherwise it won't count as a year on his current contract. We can franchise him at least twice after that. Or trade him. He has absolutely no leverage here outside of the fact that I'm sure most people want him to remain on the Cowboys. Just because you hold out during TC and take the Cowboys stuff of your social media (lol) doesn't really persuade the team to do anything.

Hold firm, minimum 4 year deal... MINIMUM. No deal?? Ok, CeeDee, franchise tag here you come. You no like? Sit out this season and lose 17 million. Ball is in your court.
Show up fake a back injury collect all the money. Wait until the very last moment to sign franchise tag then have another nagging mystery injury. Not saying it’s likely but players like Lamb always have leverage.

The problem is that Jerry waits till the last minute and caves in regardless. The players know this. The agents know this.

Jerry should not have given Zeke that contract. Now it has become the standard for which to deal with when it comes to Jerry and the Cowboys.

When Jerry franchised the man 2 seasons in a row he had plenty of time to make choices......I guess Jerry just straight up bought into him at the time with no regrets.

If he had a Lombardi to show for it , it would have been worth it.......but we all know now that Jerry puts relevance and marketing above championships.

To be honest, if Dakota can get top salary, why stay in this circus?
Well that’s what I’ve asked. Why not go to a team more serious about winning. I ask the same thing about Lamb and Parsons.

He can hold out in the regular season until week 12. That's when he has to be back in order for the year to count. No one is going to take him seriously if all he does is hold out from TC.

They would if they could.....each day Dak doesn't sign his price goes up and he'll hit the NFL jackpot.....an unrestricted free agent as a quarteback

It doesn't get any better than that.
Yes it seems so on the surface but lets look at it this way

Lets say we lose 2 to the Eagles
We lose to niners
HC of Commanders has gone against Dak for last 3 years in practice. What if they beat us

Now, what is Daks value in 2025?
9 years starting in the NFL
32 years old
Zero back to back playoff wins

Who is paying him 60+ million for 4-5 years?

Something to think about

If we're talking actual out of pocket cash, Jerry got soaked on that contract. But as far as the cap goes, and how good or bad the contract was for the team, Zeke did Jerry a favor by pushing for an early extension. I think Zeke was with the team 7 years. Only one year was a bad cap hit.

Right. If he pulls a Russel Wilson, I highly doubt he's getting anywhere near 60M a year.

Did you watch the Raiders on Saturday? They are throwing any and everything at Dak next offseason

There will be 2-3 good QBs in the draft
There will be other options in FA
Dak can have another ankle injury so now he’s ‘injury prone’

A LOT can happen before next off season
If Dak is 26-27 yes but at 32?
No idea

Let a player miss with a mystery injury.... you think that is in his long term interests?

Playing hard ball. He wants a four year deal. These aren’t yesterday’s guys. They want to maximize their earnings. He worked his *** off to get this opportunity. Done everything right.

We know they will cave so why drag their feet and piss off a player? Get the deal done and get in camp.
it has been reported he wants a 4 year deal?A good player works hard, so the team is supposed to bend over and give them anything they want?

If he won't take a minimum of 4 years make him available for trade.

You don't get the highest contract and short term at that. Love CD, but the team does have to have some degree of flexibility.

Sign him to 4 plus he's under 1 year already, then add a void year or two and his cap number is fine.

If he wants 3 years then he can either be traded for TWO 1st round picks or he can sit.

I support these guys getting paid market value, but there has to be some give and take.

4 years isn't bad imo. He's matching Jefferson which is par now. Plus we have this year. So we still have him 5.
