But Randy Moss wasn’t on the team the previous year. Moss never played for the Cowboys remember?

I am referring to last year. Would having Gallup, Shultz, Lamb and Cooper be good enough to beat the Niners in the playoffs last year? Maybe, maybe not. We know that not having Cooper didn’t help. Was Dak throwing into double and triple coverage all over the place with Cooper? I can’t remember Dak playing worse than he did last year with Cooper.

We know Dak didn’t have the interception riddled season like he had last year with Chaz Green at LT for a period, but he did have Dez, Beasley, Witten and a healthier Zeke.

I’m not saying Cooper is the answer and the trenches aren’t important. I’m saying it’s evident now that Dak needs as many weapons around him as possible. Getting rid of a weapon like Cooper hurt the offense. Period.
What Dak needs is a running game.

I don't think the team has radically upgraded itself at all. The best part of what they have accomplished is to walk into the draft with less massive holes than when they started free agency with. Hopefully that continues to the point where the team can just try to fill 1 or 2 holes (RB as an example) in the draft and go for BPA outside of that. I see the three remaining issues as WR, DT and RB.

I think not having a legit #2 when Brown went down killed this team.

It’s a huge upgrade at CB. Bringing LVE back, signing Dono and getting Gilmore is massive for the back 7.

I really feel they are a mammoth DT away from being elite on defense.

Offense still needs a LG and WR hopefully

Gillmore had a rebound year last season; idiots like CowgirlRoy don't want to talk about him getting to 5 pro bowls (and he really deserved them)
The boys are counting on him for 2 years tops; which is reasonable. Getting a quality veteran starter for a 5th rd pick is a bargain any way you look at it

Dak had a pro bowl RB and a pretty good shortage RB last year.
Do you watch the games? Against good defenses they shut down the run and forced Dak to throw 40 plus times. McCarthy even talks about this, he needs to give Dak a more consistent running game.

This is against the 49ers in the playoff game, once Pollard went out they were done:

RUSHING Att Yds Avg Lng TD
Ezekiel Elliott 10 26 2.6 5 0
Dak Prescott 4 22 5.5 11 0
Tony Pollard 6 22 3.7 10 0
CeeDee Lamb 2 6 3.0 4 0

They need upgrades at DT.

Gilmore obviously helps. But if they get so so DT play again, it won't matter. One thing people forget, the pass rush kind of fell off by season's end. A big reason for that was really no real pressure from the DT spot.

It's mindnumbing that Jerry and Stephen still don't seemingly can't give two craps about the position. And no, don't say, "Oh, they will address that in the draft..........." This is not a great draft for DTs.
Such a Debbie all the time.

Had a good to great OL for 4-5 of Daks 7 seasons. The line can’t drag Dak to the finish line
last 4 have been average. With the horrid zeke featured. First 4 were with Garrett. I rest my case.

They weren’t last year why would this year have been different?

The Cowboys aren't any closer at the league's most important position.

Gilmore helps, but it's kind of crazy how much support they're having to put around the QB they chose to pay generational wealth. Time will tell if it makes a difference.

I don't understand why everyone is acting like the team has taken huge steps to improve
