But he doesn't fit the defense. You have to be able to move in Rod's scheme as a mike. Brinkley in his prime was always a plodder.

I agree, and actually had him getting cut on my first roster prediction prior to the first preseason game (had him getting released in week 4 to make room for McClain), but at this point I don't remember who the other options were. The plan may have been to start Hitchens at MLB and incase of injury Brinkley would then start, really only playing two downs, I'm not really sure.

Hard to imagine you have the "best OL" in the league when your two top reserves who might play in a game are Bernadeau and potentially Weems.

I'll give the team the benefit of the doubt. I'm all for upgrading talent, regardless of position. Guaranteeing Brinkley a bunch of money does seem a little shortsighted, but I guess at the time we really needed a MLB. How much of the hit spills over to next year?

Mills is better than Weems... but that's not saying much.

Certainly not close to be as good as Parnell.

Mills was one of my pet cats when he was drafted. He was doing well in Chicago. Not sure what happened.

Who is as good as Parnell? We have to move on and not compare everyone to him.

Just comparing from a play standpoint.

If they aren't going to start him and he's only playing OG, Collins won't be on the 48 man active roster.

I cannot see a scenario where Collins would not be active game day. If Bernadeau goes in for Frederick at center, than who is the backup guard?

It also wouldn't surprise me to see Collins in on some heavy formations possibly lining up as a blocking TE on short yardage situations. I could also see blocking for FGs and XPs.

A player with as much talent as Collins will be active game day.

@Alexander Nate Newton has come out and said that Collins is NOT ready to play tackle nor does he have the feet to do so at this level, he also said that he's not even ready to start. Nate said he was told by the coaches that I order to not overwhelm Collins they would keep at OG and then based on how he progresses they may move him outside to OT.

This doesn't mean that if the staff is forced to move him they won't...simply that Collins needs more development.
