Yuck. I just watched some of his preseason work and he looks terrible. I hope Callahan isn't the only reason we've been able to find good talent on the offensive line.

He's like 24.

Dallas is 27th in waiver claims.

So 25 teams said no thanks to the idea of Jordan Mills.

That's surprising.

if he is only a right tackle only that means that teams already had better options or equal talent. mills will be lucky to last the season on the roster and only if we have a bad injuries will he be active.

I think it's a good move. Still a young player with game experience. So while he has struggled some lately, he's not going to kill you like Weems potentially if forced into action.

I'm beginning to wonder how short/long Weems' leash is at this point.

Not necessarily. Another team (or teams) might have put in a higher priority claim on another player and could have gotten that player instead.

Bluefin said if another team picks him up we can save an additional 750k on the cap. As it is we save 250k this year with a 625k hit next year.

Adding Mills' 585k makes it a net 385k hit to the cap before any offset.

Weems may be gone when Hardy and McClain come back

I believe we should re-gain a comp pick also. Since he isn't playing here.

Am I the only one confused about us letting go of Brinkley?? I thought he was at least a serviceable player. He started for Minnesota and got a decent amount of tackles, and I saw him make some decent plays in preseason for us. I would think at the very least we would keep him around until Ro comes back. Am I just completely out of the loop on this guy or what?

It isn't so much that he was bad, he just want as good as a few more versatile players. Brink was too limited of a player for this defense.

I have no idea. I would love for someone to ask Garrett and especially him give a straight answer.

They've have answered it
They think he's a guard and they want him to spend his time working at the spot they feel he is going to be best at
You know like they did with martin

Right now, the team will owe Jasper Brinkley $750K, the guaranteed portion of his $1M base salary.

If another team signs Brinkley, whatever they pay him in base salary (It looks like $720K is the minimum for a full season) will be deducted from the $750K we owe the LB.

So, if he signs before week one for $720K, Dallas would only owe him $30K so long as Brinkley is employed by that team.

If it's after week one, which is more likely because his salary would no longer be guaranteed at that point, the Cowboys would pay more.
