Not the worst schedule. It could've been tougher.

What I like:
1) We open on the road against a mediocre team. Its always an advantage to open on the road since teams get about 10 days for the opener.
2) BYE week 6. Week 8 or 9 is ideal. But I'll settle for week 6. Sure beats week 3.
3) Our toughest road game is after Thanksgiving off 10 days rest. Would've perferred NO in this spot, but if we have to play a tough road game in bad weather, this is the one I'd want.

What I don't like:
1)Opening in a warm weather city. I like the quality of the opponent and the fact that it's a road game. It's just that we only have 2 potential road games without the threat of cold weather. It would've been nice to play them both in Dec.
2)Dec schedule almost sucks! 3 of 5 on the road. 2 in cold weather. But it's not terrible. NYG on 10 days rest is good. We do get one of our 2 road games I would've selected to play in Dec.(NO) And I don't fear the Skins.

3) The one thing that really both surprises and pisses me off is that we only have 2 of 5 night games at home. I was sure the NFL would push to get the new stadium in prime time as much as it could. I was thinking 4 of 5 in Dallas and that would've been a nice advantage.
4) What's up with all these 1:00pm starts? This is the Dallas Cowboys we're talking about right? Since when do open the season at 1:00pm?

The schedule from the DMN blog has asteriks by those games stating "*Game times and broadcasts subject to change."

Thanks, I missed that...I was gonna say what the hell! Heh.

early but what are we looking at 9-7 or 10-6?? You know we will lose a couple games we should win and with the december brutal schedule (freaking NFL thanks a lot :bang2: ) so i think somewhere in that range will be our record...

JJT says we are going 8-8. So let's just leave it at that. :p:

OMT - You think we could get even one of our road division games in Sept or Oct?

I do like playing the eagles Nov 8th, should be decent weather.

I'd be a lot happier if we opened at Washington and played in TB Dec 27th.

yes, but once again we end the season with the Eagles and it will probably be ugly just like 2006, 2007 and especially, 2008.

Yeah, it seems like we're always playing the Eagles at or near the very end of the season. For some reason our games vs. the Saints seem to be in December lately too.

It's about ratings. Dallas will have at least two divisional games scheduled for December. NFC East doesn't play "easy" games (unless one of the teams emerges from the lockerroom lethargically and deja vu). That's half of December's games.

It wouldn't surprise me to see a minimum of another division's first-place or second-place teams from '08 slotted in the final four games either, meaning that the Panthers, Falcons and/or Chargers could be pushed to the bottom of the schedule too.

That December stretch is freaking brutal!!!

We better stock pile some early wins, because I see another December slump coming.

I agree with some of the comments here questioning all the 1 pm games. I mean, what the hell??? Arent we the Dallas freaking Cowboys??? What the hell is up with the league treating us like the freaking Lions???

I know we didnt make the playoffs last year, but dam, come on now we arent some doormat team.

How could you get mad at someone for assuming a schedule will be tough and that there are so many variables that go into a season - then make the ultimate assumption that we'll go 11-5 and even toss a nice little playoff run in there.

Because he thinks Dallas will be good.

Another rough December

they need to play well in Dec to have any chance at a real run at the SB. tough Dec means they WILL be either battle tested or sitting at home.

No excuses. No one knows if it will be an easy or a tough schedule in December.

If the injury bug doesn't bite us we have way too much talent to fail again.

Romo has to step it up this year and STOP the stupid play in December and January.
