That's what the guys on the ticket keep saying . That the cowboys are in love with this guy and would consider him @ 18 if he is there . This after one of them saw their chalk board had s 5 guys circeled (effiert, vaccaro, lacy, reid, carridine) Their other pet cat is apparently Tank Carridine .

Don't see it happening unless they sign Clabo/Winston and Moore prior to the draft and then grab the bpa in Williams, Eifert, and Vaccaro. My choice in that scenario would be Eifert. grab safety and dline help next 2 rounds.

I'm still hoping Cooper is available.

So we are taking a TE at 18?

Wow, this place would go into thermonuclear meltdown.:lmao2:

Is he back from his ACL?

the cowboys will never learn.how many times have we picked injured college players to see them go on IR time and again?.we picked Matt johnson in the 4th after he barely played his senior year for a variety of injuries included a tricep(or maybe a bicep) tear and he couldnt even get on the practice field, just stay away from injured players please.

I think Lacy could easily be there in the 2nd Round. Maybe not available at our 2nd round pick, but I could see him going in the first quarter of the 2nd round.

If Romo only has 1 second to throw the ball due to this horrendous oline, how exactly does a TE fix this?

Unless we keep him in to block, I really don't see the upside here. Am I missing something?

Maybe he means, trade Spencer? Or be done with him, after the year?

Yep that is what I mean.

Just can't see tight end in round 1. More of interest to me is who they might be trying to bait to trade down with for that team to move up and grab Eifert.

That's correct. This is a typical smokescreen. Like most smokescreens, it's not ALL that believable, but it does plant a small seed that it could be possible.

With that seed planted it signals one of two things other teams drafting after 18.

Either:

1) We might take Eifert, so if you want him, you'd best trade with someone in front of us to get him. Don't go talking to the Giants about it.

2) We like Eifert, and if he's still there when we are on the clock, you'll want to trade with us if you want him.

Odds are most teams will be pretty sure we are bluffing, but a shadow of a doubt is all you need.

Both of these scenarios help us. Either someone leapfrogs us to get him and pushes a different player further down to us or we get a trade partner to move down if we have to.

This is a pretty odd draft in that there don't seem to be a whole lot of "Splash" players at positions we are not looking for. Most drafts have more CBs, RBs, QBs and WRs that are considered elite. This year, the best bets seem to be in OL and DL. So the more players that get pushed up into 1-17 that are not OL or DL, the better. I'd love to see Eifert go before us.

I'd say the odds are very close to zero that would take Lacy at 18. Even less chance of Barkley. For sue a better chance if Eifert, but still slim.

Talent wise, Eifertmaybe deserving for some team though.

I for one am a true Notre Dame football fan and I would love the pick. It would be cool to see the Cowboys use Witten and Eifert the way the Patriots use their two TE set. It would be even better if we traded down a couple of spots to obtain some picks and still be able to draft Eifert.

The Cowboys could go Eifert at #18.

I could also end world hunger tomorrow.

Ran 4.75 on Friday just 5 months from surgery.

That's good and all, but just because a guy can run well straight line doesn't mean he'll be good to go with all the actual movements he'll have to do as a DE. Doesn't mean they won't take him. They really have no depth behind Ware and Spencer. But they won't draft him with the idea of replacing Spencer with him this season.

TE with the 18th pick would be beyond stupid.

The only way this makes sense is if we got to a 2-TE set as our base offense.

Basically copy the Pat's offense, that is the only thing that makes sense here. Either that or they think Witten is going to retire after this season.

Taking Tyler Eiffert at 18 would be the kind of forward thinking draft pick I have come to not expect from this organization. I want Cooper or Warmack more but Eiffert would be great. We need to seriously start considering Witten's replacement.

They can love the guy. Doesn't mean it makes sense to select him. Witten is still productive as ever and Hanna appears to be a good developing player.

Said this before but if Witten goes down, this offense comes to a grinding halt. Everybody else becomes alot easier to defend.

The only way this happens if about 7 guys we wanted are already gone and we cannot trade down.

Yes, but that is the kind of scenario we seem to be staring in the face. The choice may come down to Eifert and Vaccaro and there is a big difference between the best TE in the class and the next best while at safety I'm not sure you can make that claim.
