I think Ryan O'Callaghan would be a nice upgrade/replacement for McQuistan.

this is probably why he didnt stick with the patriots, next thing to remember, the patriots are going to lose most of their offensive linemen next year to free agency.

NEGATIVES: Not quick or explosive into run blocks. Loses balance sliding out laterally and lacks top range. Has a history of shoulder injuries which is a concern.

ANALYSIS: Offering enticing size and ability for a strong side tackle, O'Callaghan has the tools to eventually start in the NFL. Must receive a clean bill of health and complete his game, yet is a solid middle-round choice.

The Patriots have actually put some effort into rebuilding their offensive line.

Um.... actually, the backup left guard is a major reason why Romo spent so much time running for his life last year and co-contributor to Romo getting killed in the Arizona game. So yeah, our backup left guard is a major reason why we didn't get in the playoffs last year and yeah he is a major reason why our offense left our defense out to dry towards the end last year. So yeah, our backup left guard IS important!

Hang on a sec, before you bloody your head too much on that brick wall. The backup left guard WAS important. The backup left guard IS only important if our starting left guard gets hurt again. Of course he could but what is more likely is that some other starter will get hurt and some other sub will come in who will suck just as hard as Procter, thereby making us all think that that new sub is the worst player ever ever ever no matter what in any universe and Procter will be just another guy riding the pine.

He might actually have a point. Garcia is shiftier in the pocket than Campbell, and he's always thrived in the WCO, which is what Jim Zorn runs.

He's be a one year fix if the Skins really don't want to go with Campbell. He might not make them a top 15 offense, but he'd probably be an upgrade.

Garcia will be starting by week 6

Keeping Proctor makes sense at this point. I think he is on the roster until Preston is up to speed on the play book and can make all the calls that they need the C to make. If there were an injury next sunday to our starting C at least proctor knows the play book so they don't have to scale it back and they can provide help with our G on the blocking schemes. I would think that when Preston is ready to go full speed, Proctor will be cut.

I am surprised they arent going to put Crosslin on the PS, especially given Anderson's injury issues.

I also thought they might try to put Bright on the PS.

That's about how I feel about Procter. He's not quite bad enough to get cut given our lack of depth.

Nothing on this list surprised me, except maybe Mickens.

Mickens didn't show anything. I wonder if he's not 100%. I wouldn't be surprised to see either or both Cinci DBs on the PS though.

I'm glad to see the TE Phillips made the team.We have some killer tight ends on this team.

Phillips was my pick to contribute most among the rookies.

I would imagine that final spot is going to be used picking up a DB from waivers. I can't imagine we're going into the season with only 4 CBs.

We will be looking for OL and DBs. I hope we are looking for a nickel LB although I doubt one could pick the D up quick enough to be an upgrade over Carp. Brooking can backup Carp as the Nickel LB.

And to one poster we are not strong depth wise at OLB. An injury to Ware or Spencer will be mucho trouble.

Newman always gets hurt..Ball was hurt and could not play in this last game...Anyone else see a potential problem here?
I mean, I agree Mickens and his teammate from Cincy did not deserve to make the team but we are in a big dilemma at the cb position.
Just a matter of time before we have guys off the street playing cb for us.

What makes you think they won't? Everyone has to clear waivers first, and are not eligible to be signed to any practice squad until midnight tomorrow. The only way they won't be available for the PS is if another team claims them off of waivers and puts them on their own 53-man roster.

I expect both of them to end up on the PS if they don't get claimed.

In fact, I think the Cowboys would like to get CB Mike Mickens, DB DeAngelo Smith, WR Jesse Holley, QB Rudy Carpenter, TE Scott Chandler, FB Julius Crosslin, and G Travis Bright onto the PS, with the possibility of including Wr Manuel Johnson as well. Of course, they may see someone they like better from someone else's waivers. But none of these guys showing up on the PS on Monday would surprise me. Another candidate is DL Marcus Dixon. But with only 8 PS spots, someone wouldn't make it, at that point.

David Buehler is our 5th CB.

And he can start at BOTH spots simultaneously if need be. He'll also cover the nickel.

Yah....he supposedly tweeted that WRs Johnson and Holley and one other guy (can't remember who off the top of my head) had already been signed to the practice squad. Simply not possible yet according to league rules, although it may certainly be the Cowboys' intention to do so as soon as they can. Nothing suggests that list would be exhaustive though, much less accurate.

I think Marty B is going to get a "high and tight" ***-chewing over his twitter stuff before it's over with. He has a lot of personality and talent, and I like him a lot. But he needs to grow up a little in regards to professionalism in this type of thing.

I was assuming that Wade or Jerry had told some of the players that they were waiving them but if they cleared waivers that they wanted to sign them to the PS and MB was relaying that to us. Like you said we just have to wait and see how it pans out.

As stated above, that's an app. But this isn't the first time he's tweeted something that was going on when I'm sure the coaches would rather he not. So even if this wasn't him, it's not like he's not been active on it throughout camp.
