I also hopefull the new stadium will solve this problem. I'm going to the Bears v. Cowboys game at soldier field in a couple weeks and I can assure you I will be harrassed the entire game.

a loud stadium causes teams to go to the silent count which can give a big advantage to the pass rusher.WV Cowboy;1638069 said:Other than an occasional false start, .. do the fans actually change anything at an NFL game anyway?
Having never been to a Cowboys game at TS, .. I would love to sit with the "quiet Dallas Fans" just once !!

Now I have heard stories about how quiet so to speak Texas stadium is - so I was going to the game already with low expecations but WOW I must say I was and still am thoroughly dissapointed. Sitting there watching the game at Texas stadium and we are americas team and we literally dont even have a home field advantage.
The fans dont even make much noise in obvious situaions like 3rd downs for the giants. Cowboy fans dont even talk trash to opposing teams fans - I mean sheesh they are NOT supposed to be welcome in our house. Now by no means am I saying we should physically harrass these people but there is nothing wrong with giving them a little crap. Like I said earlier I live in MD and I go to Fed ex every year to catch the skins boys games and I go in expecting to get verbally harrassed by other fans. I hate to say it but frickin fed ex field ROCKS and when I say rocks I literally mean ROCKS - like the stadium shakes. Now albeit they have over 91,000 fans and Texas stadium only holds about 65,000 - so hopefully when we open our new stadium it will be better. At least I can hope. Am I reaching here or are the added 15-20k of fans not going to make a difference? Because I feel this is our only hope.
I know this has been covered before because I have read posts concerning it but even expecting it to be quiet it was still surprising how bad our so called home field advantage is. Someone please help us fix this or give me reason for hope because if you ask me , if we can get our new stadium to rock it will be a HUGE advantage to our dallas cowboys.

Giant S***S chants were the norm. Could the stadium be a bit more enthusiastic? Sure, but I don't think the fans were sitting on their hands either.

Aikbach;1636970 said:Dallas fans have always been noted for the "good show, we expect nothing less than victory" mentality. I think it's healthy, they get emotional during playoff time but the crowd isn't subject to volatile mood swings like Philly and New York or abrasive hate like Oakland and Philly and New York again.
Cowboy fans act like they've done it before, because they have.
They applaud victory but also expect it so don't act with knee jerk emotion or overzealous euphoria after victory.
Landry instilled that and it never left town.

Zaxor;1637056 said:I'll take the more passive Texas style than the drunken ludeness/rudeness in other stadiums...those other fans aren't my enemy they have their reasons for liking the team of their choosing...I don't need to pour beer on them and call them or their team names...I am not into barbaric behavior nor should it be supported...It is not in the name of fun so don't bring that lame game here...it is inexcusable behavior.
Those people who support violence or rude and obnoxious behavior should be permanently banned from attending any public place without police escort...
Now cheering your favorite team on to victory is fine and expected but keep the barbaric behavior out of it....more power to the fans of Dallas
