I don’t think our win loss record would be any different with Amari..
I endorse this statement.

It will be awesome if they get OBJ and it actually works out that they win and keep all of their draft capital to add to this very good football team. The problem is that the “core group” didn’t remain intact. Looking at Amari Cooper’s 68 receptions for 865 yards across 15 games in 2021, where he had eight touchdowns and averaged 12.7 yards per reception, they would be baited by CeeDee Lamb’s 79 receptions for 1,102 yards across 16 games in that same season, where he scored six touchdowns and averaged 13.9 yards per reception.
While the production was equitable or better from Lamb in that same timeframe, the nearly $4.5 million he was due over the next two seasons compared to the $60 million or so that Cooper was due over the next three years became the biggest factor. Trading Cooper was the route they deemed most effective and efficient for their payroll.
The one they just let walk most recently went for 131 yards and a touchdown on five receptions against a heated in-state rival in the Cincinnati Bengals on Monday Night Football in a Halloween Showdown. Watching Cooper shine with another team makes this deal even more frustrating.
The Cowboys’ need for a WR at the deadline (and lack of getting one) proves they were wrong to let go of Amari Cooper so quickly
Nine weeks in and past the trade deadline, you can officially say the front office was wrong.
The reality here is that the gamble and the decision to get rid of Cooper for what they got in return was a bad one, and they’re paying for it now.

We would've beaten Philthy.
Rush and Cooper had chemistry.
And we would've scored more than 3 points against TB.
Cooper had a huge game in TB the year before (13-137-2 TDs).
No, the Cowboys front office DID NOT screw up. Had they kept the "at times disappearing" Amari Cooper, they would still have to be paying him $20+ mil/season while not having enough salary cap room to resign Gallup, Brown, LVE and a few others. Cowboys weighed their options and made the correct move.
Oh no! Whatever would we do without LVE and Gallup?? He was disappearing at times because you had a hot and cold QB who has had issues with consistency his entire career. They did not make the correct move in letting him go for the value they got in return. No, the Cowboys front office DID NOT screw up. This article is so hyperbolic about Amari’s performance this year. He has a few big Primetime games and a few more duds. That’s Amari, hot one week cold the next we know this. The problem is that the “core group” didn’t remain intact. Not really. Fan's can compare the trades for Adams and Hill, but Coop isnt the same class and teams are fully aware of the intentions of their rivals. EVERY NFL team, fan and even my 87 year old mother who's never seen a game of football in her life could see that we were going to HAVE TO cut Coop. Why trade away picks when he'll become a FA within the week?
The only reason the Browns gave away SOMETHING is to get in there first and stop him hitting the market.
If you want to crucify Jones it's that the whole Death Star plan was to sign Gregory. What's happened, more luck than judgement, (when Randy chose the Smoking State) is that we had available CAP, strengthened the roster and at last have become a team rather than overpaying too many individuals that dont play up to their contracts.
Why would a team that features their running attack need a 20 million dollar receiver?
With the offense using more two back or two TE sets, where is the need for three full time starting receivers?
How well does Amari Cooper block downfield?
How many passes did Amari catch from Kellen Mond, their backup quarterback?
If Dak had started all eight games then Lamb would be dusting Amari in the first half of the season, receptions, yards, and TD's.
He has been their starter since the beginning of the season. He has thrown every pass that Amari has caught this year and there is no reason to believe that he won't be the starter the entire season.brisset is the backup qb lol

So what could they have done? They wanted Gregory and expected to sign him. Show your workingsthey didn’t HAVE TO cut him. They told the league and the world their intentions and painted themselves into a self inflicted corner. they botched it at every step and their desperate attempts to fill the void (even at 6-2) is a painfully obvious omission
The starter is the guy you see out on the field when the game begins. He’s the Browns’ backup quarterback. If you didn’t know that, you should see yourself out.

The backup is the guy sitting on the bench or standing next to the HC.
If you didn't know that.....try soccer.
Landry Hat should fold. It's articles are quite often written by the lowest of low caliber fans.
It's definitely an embarrassment to Landry.
Let's start with the obvious.
Dallas is 6-2. Guess what they were last year with Amari?? 6-2.
The front office made a financial decision and so far its proven quite adequte if not an outright win.
The 22m cap hit turned into 5M in dead money. Saving them 16M and taking them off hook for any future costs.
So what did 16M buy?
Well:
Jayron Kearse who cost 4M
Anthony Barr who cost 2M
Dante Fowler who cost 3M
... and they have 7M which just happens to be what they have right now.
So what it bought was depth and added quality on defense.
Did we step back a bit at WR absolutely.
Was it worth it?
Most definitely looks like it.
If you are going to argue they should have kept Amaru and just dead wrong go find the cap money to pay him. And if you are going to be goofy and just restructure him do the exercise for next year as well.
While that is a lot to ask of a message board poster it is most certainly not of an adult, posting articles at a website claiming some expertise on the subject discussed and stating things with their full chest.
