Every other word out of his mouth was about getting paid.

I must have missed these numerous soundbytes from our third cornerback talking about how he was going to be shown the money.

Your brother is a horrible guesser?

his guesses:

Felix, ratliff, witten, Jenkins, bradie, Spencer, mcgee, martelleus, sensabaugh.

Make of that what you will.

No, Jenkins was one of the bad starters from last year.

Scandrick is a good #3 CB but a bad #2 CB.

4 years $12M would have been a fair deal for someone with his resume.

He has bad ball awareness and is terrible in press coverage so I'm not even sure that he fits Ryan's defense all that well.

On the plus side, he is a good tackler, he is durable and he plays hard.

I think this is Barber situation all over again - we've given starter money to a backup with big holes in his game.

i was funning with ya eskimo..

Last year:

Quarterbacks completed 53 of 77 passes for 530 yards with seven touchdowns and an interception — a passer rating of 113.0 — against Orlando Scandrick

Yet fans on here think Scandrick is a good CB regardless of the fact that he hasn't showed he is even a DECENT cb yet in his career.

His 6.8 ypa was 29th among cb's last year.

Nate Clements had a good year and signed for 5M/year for the next 2 seasons.

Josh Wilson just picked up 3 years, 13M and I'm not sure Scandrick is at his level.

Players are out there.

Scandrick is better and younger than those spares. Clements a has-been and Wilson a never-will-be

I told my brother "5/$27M extension. Guess who?". 10 guesses he still didn't get it.

Make of that what you will

If you would have asked me, here is how it would have gone:

1st guess = Anthony Spencer
2nd Guess = Jason Witten but would have said if so thats a steal
3rd guess = Jay Ratliff but would have said thats even more of a steal so I doubt it
4th guess = Felix Jones
5th guess = Mike Jenkins
6th guess = Orlando Scandrick because there really is noone else I can see them wanting to resign at this time.

Every slot CB in the league just got more expensive to keep. I like OS, so I have no problem with this. Even when the team was dogging it, he played hard.

Just realized he is just 24 years old. Nothing but upside.

this......if we had a coach to elp him look back n locate the ball we be good. He is in position to make plays.

I guess it COULD work out great for us if he has a really good year. That's a very big if though.

Right, and Ryan seems to like him.

Yeah, but he hasn't been all that solid.

I'd say he's serviceable. He can still improve but he definitely hasn't been all that great.

He is not a great CB it is hard two find one of those let alone two but he can start and you can win with him he is an above average player. He is about to hit his prime lets see if he takes another step forward but this was not over paying for a player this is not a Barber panic Contract this is the Jay Ratliff type move

How is he an above average player?

He was the most targeted CB in the league in 09, and gave up 7 tds with a 113 QB rating against him last year.

What top WR has he ever even held his own against? What game changing play has he made?

I don't understand how people can bash Newman and Jenkins who have played well and to high levels at times, and then praise Scandrick who hasn't done anything special in 3 years.

Going rate of average CB's we have seen this off season coupled with what we are likely to see next year Jerry actually got in under the radar and probably this time next year we will be thinking he got a deal.

Good to see you're back.
