I wasn't just referring to the OL, I was referring to the whole team in general...the way they were coached, and how players responded. After Jimmy left so did the discipline...Hookers and blow were the headlines. Bad drafting and stupid trades...Jerry's ego has been a constant hurdle.

Look at the Patriots and how they operated with Belichick...created the best dynasty run the league has ever seen, and did it during cap years. And it wasn't all Brady either.
Year after year they won in different ways...even with Matt Cassell. The main component was the structure and the type of players they so fit, they drafted well and didn't look to be in the splashy headlines. The front office stayed out of Bill's way.

Teams are looking for that quick fix and if that doesn't happen in 1 to 3 years they fire the coaches and start over. If the front office doesn't believe in the coaches then how can they be respected by the players? The Steelers are a good example of how a front office believes in its coaches...they've had 3 in the last five decades. They've drafted well and have played the same brand of football for over 50 years. Winning starts at the top...it's a culture.
Im not talking about an occasional super bowl appearance...Im talking about winning during the cap years. It can be done.
The Cowboys problem is Jerry...we all know that.

And it applies to the entire roster ie any position group, side of the ball or however you want to bias/divide it.

The reason for the 3-5 year turnover like you are talking about is the nature of rookie contracts which before were unregulated and often saw 7+ year deals are now restricted to 4 year deals. Then you consider how teams used to be able to protect their roster outside of the Plan B designees. Teams like the 49ers, Commanders, Steelers, and Cowboys kept their rosters intact and were able to stash rookies as backups.

Jerry certainly has his issues but the Cowboys are a very large corporation even if only looking at the football side of things. They have hundreds of trainers, coaches, and support staff. The decision making team includes Jerry, Stephen, McClay, the head of scouting and all the lesser scouts. When I see people handwave at Jerry and pretend that he makes things hopeless I stop listening. You may have to overcome some things Jerry presents, he also has some good qualities. That level of oversimplification will always be wrong.

Worst kept secret in sports. But I can say Dallas, is going the way of power football. Him and solari are both power football running coaches. Solari especially, he runs a power blocking scheme

This makes drafting a RB or a free agent ( Wilson Miami ) a must . You can’t go into 2023 with the new emphasis on running opening the pass with a surgically repaired Pollard holding up as a feature back .

True but daks only had issue with int's 1 out of 6 years not counting the 1 year he missed. And i agree KM's weakness is designing run plays. But mike hasn't helped him in 3 years. Dude didn't even look at the play sheet until this last year. His schemes didnt work all that well with a better qb. And dont get me started on BS, that guy flat out sucked more than he was good.

When you have HOF and super unique QB like Aaron Rodgers,. you have to factor that you're gonna be a passing team first and foremost,.
.but you dont have to be a one dimensional team.

So long as its' effective enuff run game to factor ... or the backs can be great all purpose production ...that's what i am aiming for
