Signed by Cowboys Cowboys hire Eagles secondary coach Christian Parker as DC

I wonder how Diggs would sound speaking in front of his teammates? Boss man fat would also be interesting.
Repeatedly in article after article, I read how he challenges his players to challenge him and each other

Sounds like playing on your phone or catching a snooze would be dangerous

That’s a hungry young man

If he can fix our defense in two years, and that earns him a HC job somewhere, then that’s great news.

You all are giving a nepo bay who has been passed over time and time again who has been demoted way too much credit. It’s wild actually.
are you just angry that you weren't a nepo baby and you just hate everything about them even though they didn't ask to be a nepo baby???? The hate is incredible.

Yeah. Doesn't feel like a Jerry pick. Maybe Schotty was given the authority to choose his own DC afterall!!
That is what it looks and feels like, maybe Ol Jerry has finally learned his lesson, and he is going to let a good football mind make some team decisions for a change. Maybe if these decisions work out well, Ol Jerry will realize he is not really needed as much as a GM and will finally hire a guy or let McClay take over full time. I have my fingers crossed on this, if Schottenheimer got to make this hire this is huge news for Dallas.

I think Leonhard may have been one of those hires that come in, has a great first year, then gets a hc gig somewhere, then we are in the same situation next year. Potentially. This hire feels like a longer commitment and someone we can count on to be here. That's huge. He's a winner.
Neither Leonhard nor this guy Parker are getting HC jobs in one year. But don’t rule out Parker getting a HC job in the near future. Most consider him a potential HC

...he's an unknown quantity.

He's taking over a 30th ranked defense with no experience as a sole DC.
Nowhere to go but up...not like he's going to run a top 10 defense into the ground.

This has taken me by surprise...don't know anything about the guy & have some reading to do.

I wish I could link this article

Parker welcomes all corners, all safeties to visit his office any time. He has only one condition: You better come in hot with questions. You better be ready to talk — a lot. Nobody is allowed to waltz in empty-handed. He wants both his office and his DB meeting room resembling those poli-sci classes at Richmond. Whether it’s an element of the gameplan… an adjustment… a clue… something they noticed on film, the defensive backs are constantly bringing up specifics to serve as a launching pad into a lengthy discussion.

That way, they’re filling gaps and dotting i’s and cleaning things up 24/7.

“Because you don’t know what guys know until you hear ‘em talk about it,” Parker says. “Guys can easily slip through the cracks if you’re not asking ‘em to speak in front of their teammates. And I think it also builds trust in the room because those guys know that their teammate knows what they know.
”

I like that mindset

I LIKE THIS!

I was hoping for Leonhard, but Parker was my second choice considering he is young and the Fangio system he is coming from. Of all the coaches they interviewed so far, minus Leonhard, this was my top pick. and No to Gannon.
I'm guessing Leonhard told them he'll be going to NY with Harbaugh. At least they got one of their top choices. Hope he brings some new ideas to this raggedy defense.

Meh...it was time to go name value. But who cares....Stats is still the QB, and Booger and Chuckles are still breathing oxygen.

Well we have the DC. Hopefully over the next 2 off-seasons Dallas can make the defense at least average or above to do something the last 2 years of daks current contract. Which I think fak has a strong chance of being signed again after that.
