Curious to see the numbers if he did sign with Oakland.

Stay away from Oakland! Gimme Weddle at FS, Jalen Ramsey at SS, and Byron back at CB

you might have to settle for jones at FS and Ramsey at SS.

Honestly, I see it coming down to one of Ramsey, Bosa, Wentz or Tunsil (in no particular order) depending on who is available when we pick.

Truthfully, if the Raiders did sign him, with their need to spend to the salary cap floor, I'm sure that he would get some pretty large number his first year.

I hate to read the blog about Weddle being expensive.

I really want him to be a Cowboy. Two reasons:

1.) A good tackler and run defender which would only help Thornton, Lee and Ro. The run defense would improve significantly.

2.) Weddle would be a good Safety tandem with Jones but also a mentor too.

Didn't you hear?

Good teams don't spend in FA, even for obvious needs.

Still needing an upward pointing defensvie end candidate...a backup quarterback and another free agent Cowboy or two...if there is money that can be strained, I would like Weddle for a two year transition.

That would free up the draft for a QB, WR, and RB where wanted...but a DT up towards the top.

My favorite still is DE and DT at the very top two picks, with a trade down to increase potential.

I now would add a quality center to my wish needs...

The Raiders are pursuing Weddle, but so are others. Most of these media reports are a smoke screen, I would still love to see him in Dallas.

The problem with Weedle is that it basically means you're going to play Jones at corner. Neither of these guys are strong safeties.

I don't want to play Jones at corner at all.

Right now our secondary is decently stable with Scandrick, Claiborne, and Jones. Church isn't great, but we can survive with him for a year if need be. I'd actually prefer to cut him, use Wilcox, and use the money else where.

if they give Weddle money then they better draft DE in each of first 4 rounds (both 4th rounders too).

Unless we plan on drafting Karl Joseph, who would make an immediate impact at SS as a rookie, then I wouldn't mind seeing two free safeties back there. They'd still be better than Church or Wilcox. I'd be fine with Jones and Weddle at safety and a mid-round rookie CB.
