Cowboys looking at teams for RB trade?

DMAC is fragile; Randle is a bone head; Dunbar is not going to be able to do it and Mathews is a serious question mark. Really do not believe the so called brain trust is willing to go into the season with that bunch.

Who the hell is Matthews? Do you mean R Williams?

That is interesting. I love Forte. For a 3rd or 4th, i wouldnt hesitate on that.

He is 29. Could have 1 good year left and then be only a backup. I dont like it. not for the draft pick. A third for a RB who will play 1 or 2 more years is not worth a 3rd rounder (except AP)

Especially a back for a back that averaged less than 4.0 YPC.

Chris Johnson averaged 4.3 YPC last season and he wouldn't cost the Cowboys a draft pick and doesn't have a salary base of $7 million this season.

If you think Miller and Michael are in the same ballpark, why? What has he proven that Randle hasn't? Measurables are pretty to look at, but until he proves anything on the field, thats all it is. This is a classic grass is greener argument. Miller has a better track track record than either Michael or Randle and thats not debatable.

Its called evaluation. Good teams do that. I'll tell you right now that Michael will be a much better player than Randle.

Randle can get 4.0 ypc and DMC can do what Forte does on 3rd down and neither of them will cost a draft pick or $7m. No thanks on Forte.

People are down on McFadden because he has posted crap numbers...........he is 2nd worst in YPC in the entire NFL over the last 3 seasons, just beating out Trent Richardson. And before people say "it was Oakland", please explain why his own teammates posted better numbers than he did. Also, McFadden may have the size, but he is not running over anybody. That is why his yards per carry is so anemic, he doesn't break tackles or run over anybody so he goes down at first contact.

These are just the facts..............as inconvenient as they may be to some.............why the hell do you think McFadden signed for 0 guaranteed money? When was the last time a free agent worth a dam signed a contract with 0 guaranteed money?

McFadden is what McFadden is and that is "a free look" as Spags has said numerous times................he is a street free agent with 0 guaranteed money.

Most fans don't consider that an acceptable replacement for the NFL's Offensive Player of the Year and current Rushing Champion.

That is good because he isn't our starter.

Why do people insist he's the starter? Ryan Williams even has more guaranteed money than DMC, so I just don't understand this conclusion. It's almost unanimously agreed upon on every Cowboys related twitter account I follow that Randle is going to start and DMC will handle most 3rd downs initially unless an outside RB is traded for. (And no I'm not talking about AP)

Yeah, I wouldn't assume any of the four are starters.
Competition will decide it, as it should.

Forte had FAR more yards than AP in 2013, and while AP was suspended, Forte had 1,800 yards last year. Just about every year other than 2012 Forte compares quite well to AP... why does everyone seem to think that AP can't age but everyone else will be horrible following an 1,800 yard year?

EVERYONE doesn't think AP can't age. I'm one of those who believes he can.

Take away Murry's one big run, and look again.

So we are going to cherry pick which runs to throw out to make McFadden look better?

Sorry bro, but all plays count in the NFL..............and even if we played your game of cherry picking runs to throw out for McFadden's teammates, Latavius Murray still has a 3.8 average which is higher than your boy's 3.3 last time I checked.

I think they are going to rotate them. At least 2 of them. Keep them engaged in the game, getting into rhythm with Romo and OL. If one guy looks tired then give it to the other guy. game by game;

I wouldn't mind all the AP obsession if he was available, but he isn't... so let's start looking for some guys that are better than McFadden (not hard) who we can get... and Forte and CJ2K (for next to nothing) seem to be at the top of the list to me.

That is good because he isn't our starter.

So Randle is the starter with his 507 career yards?

Of is the guy off the practice squad with his 107 career yards?

Or is this going to be a three headed attack with Randle/Williams/McFadden all tag teaming for over 2000 yards...........that requires all 3 guys having career years.

Planning on three guys all having career years all in the same seasons sounds risky when your QB has limited shelf life.

Not everyone thinks AP can't age. His 2013 was very good at 1,200 yards and a 4.5 YPC average, but that was a poor season by his standards. His last dominant season was 3 years ago. Spend a high draft pick on Peterson AND paying him $8 mil for this season would be nuts.

I just can't see giving up all of that for Peterson...and, I don't think giving up leary for anyone makes sense, unless it is a legit starter (like an AP)

I like how you rounded down at 1266. He was closer to 1300 yards. He also missed two games. His production last year was actually on par with the rest of his career in terms of averages.
