Went looking at Minnys OL, to see if they could use Leary and found this. Holy Cow....6'9 351...?

"DEN PRAIRIE, Minn. — Polish-born Babatunde Aiyegbusi went from obtaining a visa to travel to the United States to signing an NFL contract in a seven-day span.

The Vikings on Thursday announced they have signed the 27-year-old offensive lineman who played for the Dresden Monarchs of the German Football League in 2014, helping the team advance to the semifinals of the playoffs.

The previous season, Aiyegbusi helped the Wroclaw Giants win the championship in the Polish American Football League, or (Polska Liga Futbolu Amerykanskiego), despite never playing college football.

Aiyegbusi measures 6 feet, 9 inches and weighs 351 pounds, exceeding the metrics of 6-8, 343-pound tackle Phil Loadholt ."

The guy that played OG next to Chaz Green in Florida was Trenton Brown (6-9, 355). He was pick in the 7th round by the Niners. He made the 6-5, 314 pound Green look tiny.

I would give a 2nd. He is the best back in the league next season with this team. Problem is you will have to resign him and he could legitimately ask for more than Murray received.

If the Cowboys offered a second, I wouldn't object, but that is a lot for an older rental.. a 3rd would be ideal considering trades of this type lately.

I'm not sure some of you guys have watched Martin very closely the last two seasons.
He is not the same back he was 3 years ago. He's been injured a lot, but even when he came back, he was not even the 3rd best back on the Bucs.
2012...4.5 ypc
2013...3.6 ypc
2014...3.7 ypc

Plus, he's a surprisingly poor receiver as well.

If they cut him...maybe pick him up for a look. Or maybe for a 7th later this year if they at least two of the 4 in-house aren't looking as good.

You must not know your audience. These guys are excited about a 3.3er. You start talking about 3.6, even 3.7 yards per carry...if anyone's putting up such ridiculous numbers, and they may form a conga line.

I have watched Martin and yes, I realize he isn't the phenom he was in his rookie year. So what would you expect to fetch in trade for a backup guard?

We all have a habit of overvaluing our own talent but Leary is not going to fetch a bounty.

Change the trading stakes for a RB and I lose interest. If it goes towards high draft choices and the like, I am out.

That applies to most of the players that might be available.

I would expect more than Martin for Leary.
In fact, in won't at all surprise me if they cut him.

So, from the OP they are looking to get a DeMarco type of player.

I have been very impressed with most of this off-season, but going out to get a guy like the guy you had that wanted to stay here is about as dumb as a shaving my dog's arse and making him walk backwards.

There is NO FREAKIN' WAY Murray could not have been retained and every move this team made still be made this off season.

If they don't end up with the running back formerly known as AP, then this might actually set the bar for stupid in the Guinness Book of World Record.

Or maybe the decade's Darwin Award.

I agree.................Leary is an UFA after this season and if Collins is the starter, he is out of here.

Miami is thinking the same thing with Miller, he is an UFA and is probably going to walk after this year since Miami has drafted other RBs.

So it is a pretty even trade, we both have players that are going to be UFA and are most likely walking after this year and its basically "trading prisoners" as Broaddus always says. And if he blows up and has a monster year behind this line, then we are most likely making a deep playoff run and if we lose Miller in free agency because of this, that is just another comp pick in waiting.

Really does sound like a good trade for both teams involved.

And MIA just picked of the OT we released this week (Hawkins), fwtw.

Why are people so down on McFadden? Its like most people ignore the fact that he was the best player on a sorry team since he's been in the league. Now he's a 6'2" 213lb runningback that has blazing speed, but powerful enough to run over people. I seriously believe people are drastically under estimating this guy. And yeah, that's my opinion... but he was being compared to the likes of Bo Jackson coming out of college. I understand he doesn't have the big Numbers and all, but he has all the measurables to be a great back behind an ALL-Pro OL. What kind of QB, WR, TE, or OL did he ever have? How many OC's and head coaches did he go through? Personally I think he needs to be giving a chance, rather than give up OL depth and/or draft picks for 1 year rentals..
On the other hand... the only rumor I've heard that sounds appealing is: Lamar Miller. He was a 1k yard rusher last year behind a terrible OL, also added 275 yards receiving, runs a 4.4, and is only 24yo

I'd be elated to have a Miller and McFadden combo..

Then give them a 4th and Leary . Maybe a 3rd alone will do it.

That is assuming they are just willing to dump him. Ajayi will have to just blow the doors off and one of their other backs better do the same for them to think about that.

I would kill for Forte to be on this team, especially as it might just cost us a 4th, or 3rd at worst (which we will have what? 3 of? next year). Yea I know he is old, but he had over 1,800 total yards last year (800 of them in the receiving game), and consistently runs for over 997 yards (had 929 yards his worst season). With him behind this line, watch out.

P.S. Forte has had more total yards than Peterson 2 of the past 3 years Peterson has played, crushing him 1,933 to 1,437 in 2013... food for thought.

Good stuff.

If I can't have Peterson, Forte would be a heckuva consolation prize.

I like McFadden , I think he'll go for 1200 plus yards barring any injuries. But that's the problem injuries. If McFadden goes down I don't buy the randle or williams hype. I think they are backups. But you bring in a guy like Miller and he can get 20-25 carries a game. McFadden would be an excellent 3rd down back /back up .

That alone points out how Miller is quality back, he had a very good year behind a suspect line. He is not going to be involved in a straight up trade for our now backup left guard.

You can keep calling Leary a backup G but the fact is he was a starter on the best OL in football last year. I don't think he loses ability simply because the Cowboys stepped in dog crap and landed a blue chip La'el Collins.

They wouldn't be trading for a backup G. They'd be getting an immediate starting G and a pretty good one at that. He's also still young.

Yeah. It's funny how Latavius Murray stepped in and did what McFadden couldn't do with the SAME line in front of him. I would be interested in hearing that deconstructed.

I have plenty of time.
