If and when Bill Bellichek comes here...it will be bc we have Dak.

These guys are all ready to place the entire game in him and literally a whole side of the team that was supposed to be our bedrock...wilted.
BB will not come here. These types of coaches have enough bride to not come to this night club. They are FOOTBALL GUYS (BP experience showed them you cannot deal with this diva of an owner and his diva players)

I know everyone is screaming garbage time....but they weren't playing prevent defense and they did score 32. If the defense would have done ANYTHING....I would have liked to see what would happen.

Sorry...I am so disgusted in the defense....at least Dak didn't give up. They wilted.
The Packers had took a few starters out on defense when Dallas was scoring in the 4th

Maybe they gave up because they don't believe in the QB.

Lol

Okie dokie

Doesn't even take into account the 2-3 giftwrapped int that GB dropped.

Guy was horrible tonight. No question about it
Exactly, no way you ignore one interception and not acknowledged the dropped ones, and the false start the refs didn't call on Dallas before the half

Defense player worse than him. D couldn’t stop them once lol
Yeah they did… but he did nothing with us being down 21-0 to help. Then when we were driving before half he throws that pick six.

He was off all game.. nervous. Looked like a dear in headlights. That’s how he’s looked in most playoff games. He can’t handle the pressure

Defense sucked major balls, wish they could have bail out the slow start by the offense, but in the playoffs everything scales, one penalty determines a lot, Bland's penalty when we had Love sacked ended up turning into a TD drive.

On the other side, Lamb's drops and Dak's inaccuracy at the start of the game put the Defense back on the field too many times.

Nobody is going to offer just compensation if they believe you aren’t wanting to restore him and he could be a FA next year.

There is no scenario where your team isn’t significantly worse for several years to come if you trade or cut him this year. You’d be committing to a multi year rebuild, and teams just aren’t willing to do that. The closest any team has come in recent years is the Lions and they still got a competent starting QB along with a lot of picks in the deal.
And a lot of teams continue to fail year after year after year.

How many examples are there of QB’s who are 30 years old, have never really won anything in the playoffs, all of a sudden becoming successful on the back half of their careers? Barely ever happens.

Furthermore, the cowboys can barely get past the wildcard game with Dak. What’s the negative in doing a 2-3 year retool? They aren’t winning the superbowl in the next 2-3 years as is. Not gonna happen.

Yeah Jerry probably won’t do it. But that’s because he is a bad GM.

Lastly, no team will offer just compensation? The browns literally traded for a rapist at QB. Teams have traded for Jimmy Garappolo, they’ve traded for Carson Wentz, etc.

You think the cowboys can’t get picks for Dak? Nah. A sign and trade is very possible.

But no GM would do what you’re asking. No GM football cuts or trades their starting QB months after he finishes second in the MVP race. Calling Jerry a bad GM for not doing something literally no GM would is just disingenuous.

I think Belichick said that he likes Dak.
Lol are you serious?

The only reason the "Patriot way" worked was because Brady was getting paid peanuts and was willing to take extreme criticism from Bellichik...

Some people thrive under that type of situation, others like Dak don't

Dak has been babied his whole career I don't think he would like Bellichik doing a "sean Payton"

According to Spotrac, Dak right now counts 59 mil against the cap in 2024.

The cowboys are right now projected to be 11 million over the cap.

The cowboys can’t carry a cap number that high for the QB. So their two options are: extend him or cut him.

Extending him allows them to spread money out further down the line and save space on the cap on 2024.

Cutting him post June 1 saves them 31 mil in 2024.

cutting him would save 18 mil against the cap.

Dak’s contract was designed to either be extended this offseason OR for the cowboys to move on.

As such, now’s the time to move on. You can’t extend Dak given how things went down again this season.

Cutting him plus making other moves with some contracts (cut Gallup, restructure players, resign Ceedee, etc) will add additional cap space putting the cowboys in actually decent shape cap wise.

The time has come to cut him and move on. Whether that’s giving Lance a season to see what he has or drafting a QB right away THIS offseason.

The time has come.
man if they cut him, he's going to DC, NE, MN, TB, or 1 of the other QB needy teams and we will get nothing for him. I'd say look we want you to wave the NO trade clause and we will trade you to where YOU want to go. if he says NO then cut him after Jun 1 and no one can sign him i think until after then.

Wow. The Cowboys nearly averaged 5 yards a rush.

How high of a team rushing average does Dak need to not play like dog crap in the first half?

The run game was not bad today. The issue is they had to abandon the run game because they didn’t score any points until 5 seconds left in the half. Because of interceptions.

If they fire McCarthy, I’d let the new coach have input on what to do with Dak. Otherwise, Dak needs to sign a team friendly extension. If he wants blockbuster money, cut or trade him. He’s a decent middle of the road QB that has never won a big game. He should be paid accordingly.

You’re not competing for 2/3 years with rookie qb
Are we competing now? I don’t see much of a difference between not making the playoffs and getting blown out in the first round by the lowest seed. We can’t win on the road and our schedule was soft.

Our victories this year- we beat Giants and Commanders twice, an imploding Eagles team, Jets, SD, Seattle, Rams, Panthers, Patriots and Detroit.

We’ve beaten 3 playoff teams this year. One playoff team is the Eagles that in is an historic collapse. The only 2 teams I feel good about beating is the Rams and Detroit. So 2 of our 12 wins were against sound playoff teams.

We lost to the Cardinals, 49ers, Bills, Miami and Eagles, all on the road.

How competitive are we? Or are we just playing soft teams?

We just got boat raced in our own building by the Packers. If we played in the NFC North or NFC West we don’t make the playoffs.

I call Jerry a bad GM because of 28 years of failure.

And don’t say no team does it. Houston did it, KC did it. The packers who smoked us today, just did it with Rodgers.

All playoffs teams that are playing next week btw.

It is strange how Dak's performances are so uneven. If he's needed to play great: he doesn't.

He's no different than Romo was. Neither have what it takes to win big in Dallas. Not many do- especially in the modern era of football.
