Yes...let's cut him and pick high in the draft for the foreseeable future. Great idea.

Literally just had an MVP type season and people want to cut him because of a pick 6...lol

How about we get a good defense that actually can get some stops so a few mistakes don't turn into people thinking this is a madden offseason?
Did you not watch the game ? This dude crumbles against real teams every year. It’s time to move on. Look how quick a player like burrow took the bungles to the Super Bowl.

I call Jerry a bad GM because of 28 years of failure.

And don’t say no team does it. Houston did it, KC did it. The packers who smoked us today, just did it with Rodgers.

All playoffs teams that are playing next week btw.
Houston did it for a very obvious non-football reason

Green Bay did it for a very obvious non-football reason, and Rodgers is NINE years older than Dak

And Alex Smith? LOL

I wouldnt let the incoming coach have too much say. Hel will say he wants to keep Dak.

There are some coaches so driven to be the best that they would trade Herschel Walked for draft picks.
Psy are apparatchiks looking to keep their jobs for another year.

You're missing the point.

All of those teams have higher ceilings than us at the moment because they weren't "scared" of failure

Dak is 30 years old, going to be 31 next season. He isn’t a young up and comer.

If you want to mention him being better than Alex Smith. Fine. But Alex Smith actually made it further than Dak ever did. So in regards to team success, KC was better than Alex smith than the cowboys are with Dak and that’s no laughing matter.

I just don’t know what the Cowboys are holding onto at this point. Honestly I would rather a 2-3 year rebuild with a chance to be better on the backend, than just losing in the wildcard the next 3 years.

People are not wanting to cut him after one bad playoff performance.

They are wanting to cut him because of YEARS of bad playoff performances. The defense was bad tonight but Dak didn’t give his team a chance to win. At home against a team that was clearly not as good as them.
Defense was bad tonight but Dak put the defense in a bad spot by throwing 2 interceptions for 14 points. Dak threw these picks when the game was still in reach. The pic 6 basically ended the game.

If Dak played like Mahomes or Brady in every other playoff game and laid an egg here then it would be different. This is a recurring issue with Dak and playoffs.

If Jerry doesn’t see it then Jerry deserves to go to his grave not winning another Super Bowl because extending Dak will guarantee playoff failure. 2018, 2021,2022 and 2023, same story. Also 2019 he played horribly against the Eagles in a win or gone home game at the season finale and lost. That game the Eagles were playing 3rd stringers in their secondary and Dak still choked.

So in win or go home games in his career he is 2-6.
2016- L, divisional round
2017- N/A
2018, W against Seattle, L divisional round
2019, L against Eagles in finale
2020, N/A
2021- L WC
2022- W against Tampa Bay, L divisional round
2023- L WC

Do we want to make a 2-6 QB in win or go home games the NFL’s richest player ever?

So.....the Packers are a REAL team now right?

The whole team was atrocious. I have exception with everyone blaming the QB.

It was way bigger than that.

According to Spotrac, Dak right now counts 59 mil against the cap in 2024.

The cowboys are right now projected to be 11 million over the cap.

The cowboys can’t carry a cap number that high for the QB. So their two options are: extend him or cut him.

Extending him allows them to spread money out further down the line and save space on the cap on 2024.

Cutting him post June 1 saves them 31 mil in 2024.

cutting him would save 18 mil against the cap.

Dak’s contract was designed to either be extended this offseason OR for the cowboys to move on.

As such, now’s the time to move on. You can’t extend Dak given how things went down again this season.

Cutting him plus making other moves with some contracts (cut Gallup, restructure players, resign Ceedee, etc) will add additional cap space putting the cowboys in actually decent shape cap wise.

The time has come to cut him and move on. Whether that’s giving Lance a season to see what he has or drafting a QB right away THIS offseason.

The time has come.
Cutting him means we are going full rebuild. Probably means that extending Micah or CeeDee is almost pointless.

We’d have to bottom out next year, win like 3-5 games to have a chance to draft a new potential franchise QB.

Either that or just get really really lucky and luck is not a strategy.

You ready to do that?

If so, then I can at least respect it because it’s at least sane. Thinking that we can immediately contend without a franchise QB is nonsense though.

Here is the thing that Dak has to understand that Brady did for the Pats. Brady took less money so the Pats could sign some FA to help him win many SBs. There were time where he could have been the highest paid player or at least qb but wasn’t. Now Dak has to figure what he wants to do
Even if he took a hometown discount it’s not going to be enough to make a difference. Say he miraculously agreed to shave off 10 million. Is that the difference? Obviously not.

You can be mad at Dak’s contract or his money, but no discount is going to make a difference.
