RELEASED Cowboys release James Washington

I said it way back when Washington was signed during training camp that he would end up being a bust and a waste of a roster spot, especially since Washington as a veteran couldn't even make it this year on a Steelers pass-happy team in need of good receivers. Many called me out for saying such a statement. Well, where are those who called me out and said I had no idea what I was talking about? o_O
How in the world did you know he would get injured? Miss Cleo?

Is this the only FA signing that didn’t work out? Y’all just complain to complain lol not only is this the only one that didn’t contribute, but we pivoted and signed an upgrade mid-season.

Can’t win em all. Last two offseasons have yielded solid FA results. Not gonna cry over James Washington not working out.

I don't know why it is so hard for a lot of you to understand. They don't need Washington now because they have Hilton. The need the roster spot top put Farniok on the roster. They can play Farniok at center if needed and move Smith back to left tackle and McGovern back to left guard. The front office isn't dumb. 13 and 4 isn't dumb.

So how much money did James Washington steal while he was doing nothing for the Cowboys?

They salvaged it a bit with Hilton here at the end, but again, the Jones' boys botched the WR group and many on this board called it back in August to only receive scorn and crying from the homer crowd.

I think it’s more a reflection of Hilton and Brown. They outplayed Washington. Can’t pay your 5th WR.

Probably pissed Jerry off like another WR. He hates paying people not work.

Dumb, he should have played the second half against the Commodes, once Philly goes multiple TDs up on the Giants.

Uhhh, because the guy has a lengthy injury history! Doesn't take a genius to figure that out. A little research would help.
Before this season Washington had played 14 games (2018), 15 games (2019), 16 games (2020) and 15 games (2021). This was his first season to miss significant time.

Did they? Lamb getting 100 receptions isn't botching the wr group.

You get zero points for this bizarre response.

Yes, they screwed up WR this offseason. The fact they had to go shopping for Hilton (and danced with OBJ) here at the end of the season shows you they knew they had WR problems, that many non-homers, pointed out back in August.

why release a player right now that a potential playoff opponent could pick-up and gain further insight into the offense?

Room for others coming back would be my guess.

Injuries, injuries, injuries, injuries every season.

What don't you stubborn knuckleheads understand about that? How did he turn out for the Cowboys this year? Admit you were wrong. Very simple.

Lol… that trade looked horrid to begin with. Now it has eclipsed the Joey Galloway and Roy Williams moves as an all time blunder.

Jerry and Stephen traded away an asset we needed, and utterly failed to replace that production because they let their emotions (once again) make their decisions
Pretty certain we did not give a 1st for Washington.
