Good send off, smart guy for that. I wonder if anybody will pick him up?

I'm sure someone will. I have to say I'm a bit surprised I just have to wonder if Jeff Heath or Micah Pellerin has shown the coaches enough to make them comfortable in this move. I know they have faith in Wilcox but now we are getting into the depth of the position.

Urlacher was a MLB. Why not bring in Urlacher at MLB and move Lee to WLB? Urlacher certainly knows the D and all the coverage breakdowns should be mitigated. Landry loved players who were also coaches on the field.

If they were gonna bring him in, they should've done it before the season. He's a tv analyst now.

Yea I'm sure when church or Wilcox go down you'll have that same enthusiasm . This organization is so weird . I don't ever think they consider any back ups . I think jerry literally goes to the dry erase board and says" all 22 starters look sexy Super Bowl baby "

Ummmmmm....any chance Rat is lurking somewhere in the weeds? I still have a hard time believing the guy is done for the year.

In the meantime, I could see Hamilton up from the P.S.

Journey-man talent. Lifelong backup. Getting long in the tooth. Not surprising.

That's what I see. Funny/sad.

No way I want Allen back. He was garbage. Rather play a rook and let him make the same mistakes. At least a rook will give more effort tackling and has potential to improve. Allen is what he is, less than a JAG.

124 yards tells me that PFF hasn't assigned a whole lot of direct pass coverage to Church. It's not a huge sample size for sure.

Or the Cowboys have purposefully protected Church in coverage.

Early in the season I asked the question, "Who the heck is Will Allen" in a pseudo-mocking way (i don't know what pseudo means but it sound good)..

I guess I am vindicated.

But, how can this defense manage to shed players? Don't they know how hard it is to get superior players once the season start?

Put Costa in at safety. He's not doing anything on offense.....

First of all, slow your roll chief. You are the pessimist, not me. Just so it is clear, I never wanted Allen, for any role - starter or back up. Do you understand my stance now? I would rather start a rook (should either Church or JJ go down) than start Allen.

I would prefer a vet back up, just not Allen.

Or Lee could play safety . . . wait . . . no, that was a bad idea. Links you half to help me fight off these dumb thoughts when they approach.

Seymour at DT?
Thomas Howard at WLB (he was decent in coverage).
Kerry Rhodes at S?

I posted a few times that he wasn't even going to make the final roster. I just can't believed people really thought he was going to be a passable starter at FS for us.

If they call up Ratliff from PUP next week, the Cowboys can use a three week roster exemption on him. No need to cut a player for him right away. I have a feeling the Cowboys are going to call up Vega, Hamilton, or Pellerin from the practice squad...unless there's a trade brewing.

For a team tracking to give up the most passing TDs in the history of the NFL and a team that managed to give up 450+ yards in the last two games to RBs and TEs.

Most recently, according to PFF (for what it is worth), Church was the 2nd worst pass defender on the team vs Denver.

I don't know what to tell you, there are 11 people on defense.
