This gives us five corners (Scandrick, Brown, Carroll, Awuzie and Lewis). If we are trying to move Scandrick, we need one more, plus we need at least one more safety (Jones, Heath, Frazier). So I won't be surprised if the rest of our picks are DBs.

You forgot Blanton in your safety list...

Not that it is hard to do mind you, just stating a fact.

Ok, so all these positive stats that people are quoting should be ignored too? Or are you just being close minded and only chose ro believe what you want?
What are you talking about? Are you a troll? You must be that's the only way to make any sense of your comments

Do you want to be probed?

espn gave Jourdan Lewis our highest grade (87), Taco was a 89 and Chidobe Awuzie was a 83. Looks like a good draft at positions we definitely needed help shoring up. I would love to land a receiver that is a beast return man with speed to burn and can catch lol a lot to ask for yes. I can dream.

Just being honest, that's the beauty of an open online forum. Hard for me to get pumped over a guy with potential domestic violence issues and who is only 5'8 and will most likely be covering Brandon Marshall and Engram who have about 60-70 lbs and 7 inches on him.

Sometimes you have to take players that are more relevant beating the teams in your division. The Giants did it by filling in Hankins spot and adding receivers due to our young secondary. Phily and Warshington are doing the same. I just think he won't be a big difference maker in the NFCE and has other baggage to go along with him.

Wow he shrunk 2 inches after being drafted? That's worse than buying a new car!

Apparently you have reading comprehension problems, go back and read my posts. I addressed the Giants OL and yes, thankfully their running game is non existent. IMOF, I was lol'in when they took Webb over Perine or Foreman. Lol, they're such idiots but that "tight end" and BM along with OBJ and Shepard scare the hell out of me.
Their offense was terrible last year and will be again. Be scared all you want but I'm willing to bet they don't score 20 points on us

You kind of sound like the person that hated the Dakota pick last year st the draft, then after his first loss, then after his 11 game win streak, then After his othe loss, then after the other winning streak, then the game they gave away and finally his playoff loss. Think they liked a QB from another team more..... can't remember cause I was so tired of all the winning.
Incorrect sir. It has been awhile but I was never a big Romo fan and I caught plenty of hell for that as well. I believe I wanted them to bring Romo back in as soon as he was healthy because I wasn't sold on Dak yet and figured he could learn a lot from watching and listening to Romo.

No wonder I always have to repeat myself, at least half of the posters here don't know how to read. I already corrected myself several posts back. By the way, your joke is about equivalent to your reading level, 5th grade.

I am a little confused... when did 87 become a higher number than 89?:p

Agree with everything else though. :starspin:

Yes, I did. So that lowers the need by one. If we're keeping Scandrick, then we've got our five corners. A safety in the fourth will give us five there and then we can do whatever with the last couple of picks. I'd like another speed rusher, but it wouldn't hurt to pick up a running back to compete with Morris or a real fullback if they make such a thing anymore.

Jourdan Lewis CB/FS Michigan

TALENT
ROUND 1

STRENGTHS
Jourdan is one of the top cover corners in this draft. He is a quick twitch athlete that has the athletic talent to play on either side of the ball and as a special team’s weapon. Jourdan has great hand/eye coordination. He has quick feet and can flip his hips in a blink. Jourdan has catch up speed so if you think you can beat him deep forget about it. He is an excellent special team’s returner using his quickness and peripheral vision along with excellent lateral explosion to make yardage almost every time he doesn’t fair catch the ball. Jourdan has the pass catching talent to intercept the ball better than most receivers’ on offense can catch a ball. He has good leaping ability to knock balls down or intercept them at their highest point. He has excellent football intelligence, works well with his defensive teammates and shows leadership through his play on the field. He is a defensive, special teams and if need be an offensive playmaker and they are very hard to find.

CONCERNS
Jourdan’s size is the only issue teams will use to down grade him. Of course they will be wrong to do that because he plays bigger than his size and can make plays on defense and special teams. But history and stubbornness will win out and like I said, most teams will downgrade Jourdan because for the position of corner back he is on the small side.

BOTTOM LINE
Jourdan has more talent to play the game than a lot of bigger players have. Jourdan minimizes being undersized by using the correct techniques to cover and tackle players bigger than hm. His impact is as a play maker so taking him off the field because of his lack of height would obviously be counterproductive. So what do you do as a coach to help minimize his size being taking advantage of? You move him around your defense. Jourdan can be used all over your defense as a cover corner, or a free safety, or in nickel/ dime on the inside to take away those small quick receivers all because of his excellent cover skills and tackling techniques and quick twitch athletic talent. Quarterbacks will think they can take advantage of his lack of size and will forget about his leaping ability and try to throw high against him and Jourdan will pick that ball off at its high point.

There are no real fullbacks anymore; at least not any that could do it in the NFL. In the lower divisions of NCAA there are still teams that do the wishbone, etc but as I said they really do not have the physical talent. The option teams in the big time - nothing there that I have seen that Is any good.

I hope you're right but I'm just going off the articles I've read about Lewis so far.

Edit: I don't think I'm putting "way too much" on height. How many times have we seen Dez or Megatron or some other big receiver just fo up and literally grab the ball 6 inches above the defenders head. If it's thrown right, it's almost impossible to defend against.

That goes with most corners in the league. A "big corner" is considered to be six foot---that's short for a receiver. Most players that are tall with ball skills play receiver.

If they are tall and have ball skills, they would play receiver. If you look around the league, most elite corners have one thing in common, attitude. Lewis has that going for him, as does all of our young corners---seems to be a trend.

What in gods name are you blathering about now? You said "you should stop reading and watch him play" in reference to my statement that I am commenting on Lewis' weaknesses based on what I've read.

I said "so does that mean all the positive stats that people are quoting should be ignored as well"? Meaning you're being a hypocrite. You're criticizing me for not watching film and using articles I've read that point out some of Lewis' weaknesses but you haven't said a word to the people who said how great he is based off only what they've read.

This is ridiculous. I'm done wasting time trying to deconstruct simple sentences and statements for you. Maybe next time I'll try using smaller words and simple sentences.

From now on, I'll never be critical of the Cowboys again so you can accuse me of something else. I'll be nothing but positive, overly optimistic and arrogant. Why not? After 20 years and a couple playoff appearances I should be.

IMOF, I'll start the annual "We're going to the Superbowl" thread tomorrow. Peace out G.

I don't know there are a couple of pretty good ones on NFL rosters. Maybe someone like Sam Rogers could be an upgrade to what we have in converted linebacker Keith Smith. If we're going to use the position, even for a few plays, let's make it worthwhile by getting someone who actually adds to the offense.

Oh, well not that though, I'm referring to hating the pick all year long, (probably still now) despite the success he had. Just sounds like short of walking on water you'll hate this kid here no matter what. Thats ok though if everyone agreed someone wouldn't be needed so hate away, provides content.

Exactly, there is a football joke I heard something like 20 years ago.

Q: What do you call a WR with bad hands?

A: A Cornerback
