That’s dirt cheap. Look at comparable players.$5M?
Damn it.

I like it. Good replacement for Beasley. Better replacement.
Just to vouch for Cobb, he's being brought in to replace Beasley, and we're saving $1 mil over what we intended to pay Beasley had he stayed. Yes, Cobb has a bit of an injury history, and that was likely factored into the contract. Plus, while the announcement says 1 year $5 mil, I don't believe we saw what the guarantees were for it. So, it's quite likely that there are some incentives built in should he stay healthy. I'd like us to get a safety and DT as well. However, Cobb is a good move for us. Still lots of time to get the safety and DT. I fully expect us to draft a S and DT anyway. However, we've got a lot of time to see who comes available. Personally, I'd like to see us get Justin Houston next, if we can get him on a decent deal.
Yes, there isn't any player in this price range and position that would not have some baggage. Cobb can help this team win. There is some injury risk, but the position was not going to get filled without some risk.
Now we just need a QB
Replacing your starting slot receiving with an often injured slot receiver is not a good replacement - it could be argued it's a downgrade. I'm fine with letting Beasley go, he's replaceable, but this is another Hurns and Austin signing. These dudes aren't going to do anything for us. Cobb will be injured by week 3, and who is up after that?

Why are we only going for players in this price range? that's the issue.

I suspect it has something to do with the fact that we are going to need to resign Cooper, Dak, and Dlaw soon, and the year after next, probably Zeke. So, I suspect we shall still continue to be frugal so that we can still build a rather formidable team while still being able to keep those 4. Oh, and then maintain other chaps that we will want to keep. Plus, I think we'd go ballistic if we got a player on a massive contract and that player ended up doing complete squat for us. Does the name Brandon Carr mean anything to you?

Yeah he said only right kind of guys willing to take honest offers.Stephen Jones answered this question for us. It was on the front page for days - and shouldn't be too hard to find.
