April Fool's Day 2024 is three months away--so the report is apparently true.
Someone que up the theme song from the "Welcome Back, Kotter" sitcom.( Learning to post links and gifs on the internet is a goal of mine for 2024.)

He’s on the practice squad, basically a trial run or scout team.
He has to show something above our current backups or he will never be on the real roster. If he shows he’s better than our current backups, GREAT! If not, he never gets a call up.

How can he go to the practice squad?
Veteran players can now be signed to the practice squad, like DT Carl Davis who Dallas has called up the past three weeks. There is an open spot I believe since center Billy Price is still on practice squad-injured.

Veterans can be signed to the PS since the rules changed a couple of years ago. The players union wanted vets to be able to have jobs even if they didn't make a 53. I think it was a great rule change, and one of the few good things to come out of the pandemic. (They instituted the rule because they didn't know when players were going to have to go in quarantine and miss games.)

I hope he got a big enough signing bonus to pay for the bribes he likes to pay to NFL drug testers.

Still, given his history, he will be able to fill-in one of those slots on our Injured Reserve list.

Not a bad pickup for this point in the year. Let’s hope we don’t have to use him but if needed this could be a move that we look back on and say what if we hadn’t signed him.

He’ll be starting by the time we’re in the Super Bowl.

Hopefully Collins won't be needed but the Cowboys are one more OL injury away from a disaster. And Edoga was so bad I would rather see Collins out there; which is really saying something.

..in bigger scheme of things. He could be huge factor with Nudging running game, in right direction.

Going further, I dont remember Collins ever having a terrible game. When I say this, referencing a Chazzy Green type of game.

Actually I like this. He should be better than any tackle outside the starters we have currently on the roster. And if they really wanted to, they could play him at Guard and move 73 out to tackle. Good back up depth headed into the playoffs.
Yep. And all it cost in signing bonus was an authentic WW1 gas mask.

Good move. We're running out of late-season warm bodies in key positions.
