Cowboys signed WR Deonte Thompson, formerly of the Bills, to a one-year, $2.5 million contract.
He will get a $1 million signing bonus. Thompson showed surprisingly well last season with the Bills, catching 27 passes for 430 yards and a score in 11 games. As it stands, he should slot in as the No. 4 receiver in Dallas

apparently he was a #1 wr by default some times for buffalo

The jets have a ton of cap space dont they? I can't imagine he leaves the jets without a deal.

He won't sign with Dallas. There's no doubt. FO is wasting its time with their honest offers.

Well like Butler he won't be on the field much so it doesn't really matter.
the Jones boys are just filling some holes.
It is all up to the draft now.
Maybe they get a couple of players that can help this year.

And don't forget we have dak friendly O coming!

...looks like Dez has to prove something this year and earn his contract...Thomas will be fairly decent I suppose...hope they can draft WR Ridley in the draft..
he'd be a good #2.

Only if Dak has WR friendly passing on the agenda....

Thompson is not a practice squad player. It seems some think there are no levels between starter and practice squad.

Exactly
These idiots don't know there is 'bench warmer' status in between

I have it on good authority that this is how they did it

They called everybody for a meeting and counted the number of empty chairs in each meeting room

Presto !

There is bench warmer, and special teams, and role player in certain offensive sets. There are 53 roster spots to fill, not just a couple.

He is actually a good signing. He is a 4.3 burner. Instantly upgrades WR group speed. Instantly replaces Bonehead Butler.

He was a 4.3 burner 8 years ago who’s never caught more than 27 passes for more than 430 yards. He’s only scored 4 career TDs. Switzer had a better KO return average than Thompson. The Cowboys are Thompson’s 4th team. Butler is a better receiving talent than this guy. No way does Thompson upgrade our receiving corp better. He’ll be a bubble player this summer hoping to make the team on special teams.

Because they were his first scheduled visit, and the Cowboys would be shady if they stole a player under those circumstances.
So we would rather be viewed as not shady as opposed to bringing in talent? After how the owners treated Jerry? LOL.
