Jones wants to get it done in time to get the 83rd-best guard and 78th-best safety available in free agency. :)

Might even get the 103rd-best receiver.

Was just listening to Sirius Xm NFL radio on the way to the store about 30 minutes ago and they quoted a local reporter (not sure who I just caught the tail end as I got in the truck) as saying that the feeling around Valley ranch is that a deal with Romo is imminent. They didn't give a time frame but did reference the cap space that would be created for the FA market.

I think there's some major value out there right now. I don't think we'll have to break the bank and could end up with a couple of nice additions.

ignorant deal.

cut this non-winning, non-clutch, stat stuffing QB already!!! he's not winning anything, and has never won anything!

Romo has won multiple division titles and a playoff game in 2009 against the Eagles.

Yea, he has not taken us to the SuperBowl but to say he has never won anything is just factualy not true. Now if you are talking about Quincy Carter and the multiple 5-11 seasons, then you can say he never won jack.

But that is not an accurate way to talk about Romo, he has won meaningful games in his career (see 2009 season finalle to win division and 2009 playoff game against Eagles as examples).

Yea, I think a deal will be announced in the next couple of days. The fact that Jerry said Romo is not being paid to be a bus driver is very telling. That tells me that Romo is going to be paid top tier franchise QB money.

We are talking $17 - $20 million range annually for top tier QBs.

I will be very surprised if Romo's deal does not average out in this range, of course it will be structured totally differently, but the simple average I bet will be in this range.

If that's the criteria for cutting Romo, we might as well cut Witten, Ware, Ratliff, Austin, Lee, Carter, Dez, Murray, Carr, Claiborne, etc. SInce they too haven't won anything while wearing the Cowboys uniforms. And the upcoming draftees too, since by fans assumptions, we won't win anything this year either.

Tony has only started for us 6 years. He started late so even though he is 33 technically he's in his prime. If he would have started right out the gate it's a different story. Resign him get an oline and draft a qb next year to learn from him. I.e Aaron Rodgers under Brett favre

You honestly think Romo will take anything less than a full 5 year deal? Come on. It would be self defeating for the team to to that also as they wouldn't be able to push his money back.

I just want the guy signed so hopefully the so called FO will find his replacement in a couple of years.
