They can't do anything to him that he doesn't consent to. In fact, knowing him, if they push him any he might just hold on tighter.

See if you agree with this, I always felt like Mike was more of a Stephen hire. That first PC, Stephen was the one who seemed closer to him, happier, did more talking, etc. Plus the reports that Jerry didn't warm up to Mike until he'd been here a couple of years.

It seems to me like Jerry has decided he'd make the decisions again. You had the crazy Lance trade where he doesn't even tell his coach, the Zeke signing, and the Mingo trade. Jerry took over this past training camp PC like he hasn't in years. Feels to me like he's taken some things back from Stephen. Maybe that's where the old age kicks in, he doesn't want to go out not doing things totally his way.
I definitely noticed some unsureness from Jerry during that introductory pc with McCarthy. He did not look fully bought in.

He publicly disrespected McCarthy several times during MM's tenure.

Despite all of this, he was still willing to bring back McCarthy for pennies. It just shows you how little he thinks of the position of head coach.

Sounds spot on

Jerry is top dog for sure, but he can delegate if he wants to. Seems to me like he did that with Mike and he's not going to do that again.
I dont think you could be more wrong. He's not delegating hiring a head coach. I think you want to believe he did. There is zero evidence that he did.

Anytime we've ever seen war room video we see Jerry large and in charge running the room. That's the real Jerry. Not the indifferent delegator that fans dream up about him. He wants the power because he wants to use it.

-

Someone asked me did you buy this for your kids? Hell no! I bought this for me! I bought an occupation not an investment.

-

That guy let one of his kids decide who should be the next head coach of his occupation? Laughable.

I am going to LMAO if Kellen Moore ended up being too expensive for cheapskate Jerry Jones.
KM should want the premium. As much as we know he’s not worth it he has suitors. He’s about to coach in the NFC title game. In his mind he’s on the same level as Ben Johnson possibly. His agent probably does for sure

Or he isn’t desperate enough to come work for Jerry and his stipulations
Guys like Shottenheimer and Kellen…they don’t have options. No one serious about winning is hiring them as a head coach. It’s nothing against Kellen but they fired him, he gets fired again and that goes to the Eagles to run Sirriani’s offense…what on earth has he done to change their minds? Just a silly team.

I know this is a thing for you, but I'm not saying what those others have said. Of course Jerry is in charge. He always has been and always will be, until and unless he signs something legally giving someone else power. I'm not saying he's some figurehead.

I'm just saying that, as anyone with power, he can allow someone else to persuade him or not. My theory, based on observation, is that Stephen was the driving figure behind hiring Mike. Of course Jerry had to agree to that, because he's the one with power. Looks to me like the last year or so he's decided that was a bad idea and he's going to rely more on himself again.

and oddly enough Jerry has made the HC position irrelevant,,, so long as this team undervalues defense and the trenches it will be a finesse team that gets punked early in the playoffs (on a good year). Shotty, Saleh, Moore, whoever, doesn't matter. It's all about the roster and ours sucks where it counts.

I’ve always thought Mike was a Stephen deal. No different than when he talked Jerry out of Manziel. He most likely talked him into Mike. Jerry was ice cold when he first came on. Now like you said Jerry wants to be back to being Jerry and pluck a savior out of the scrap heap. And as always it will fail again.

Oh I am going to throw up

Is Jerry purposely trying to see how far we Cowboy fans will stretch and remain loyal Cowboy fans?

Believe me and I think everyone will agree that he has got us all stretched pretty thin already

Will take Schotty over Kellen Moore. He was coaching in the NFL when Moore was in Jr High. At least he’s got experience and a better chance to command a room. What has Moore done to deserve all the anointing oil?

Schottenheimer would be a sure-fire head coach to train his players to observe incurable conservative inabilities to perform! :muttley:

Why change anything? Things are going just as Jerry wants them to...

While I am not thrilled about anyone they interviewed so far at least they did interview a few people. It is possible they are using HC interviews to see who might be a good fit for the coordinator roles. It's not as if they let the head coach hire his own staff anyway.
