The majority of starters in the NFL at RB were taken in the top 2 rounds. You're pointing out the exceptions. Last time I checked, 26 of 32 starting RB's were taken in rounds 1-3. This "you can find a RB anywhere in the draft" trash is just that, trash. You can find good players all up and down the draft so stating that is simply stating the obvious. However, if you have a need there, throwing darts at mid/late round RB's to fill a starting position is beyond foolish.
I was pointing out the teams in the playoffs

I wasn't trying to point out exceptions....just the facts

I have never made the statement that you can find a RB anywhere. ...though, if you asked me I'd say using a high 1st round pick on one would be a bit crazy.
Other than that, I'm not opposed to taking one after that...so late 1st thru 7th

Fix the OL until that’s fixed don’t care who you put back there Fire the OL coach Why is he still here?
It’s laughable the ppl don’t talk about this more,

We either have elite talent as propagandized and our scheme with Solari sucks, or or talent is wildly overrated, or both.

Pollard did fine the prior year when zeke was out, totally different scheme. Hell our offense was supposed to be one thing until Sf opened up a can on us, then we imho abandoned whatever Mike was trying to do.

Unless we do some things I don’t think we have a full complement of picks this draft.. And we need O-Line and DT and LB.

It's exactly a year late since the run game should have been addressed.

Jaylen Wright. Sleeper that will turn 21 come draft time, and has low miles. Maybe grab a bruiser in FA for short yardage.

I don’t think I’m going out on a limb to say this team won’t do nearly enough to fix the situation. They always tend to think they’re in much better shape than they actually are and how they’ve handled the RB position over the years is a prime example.

Sure you can certainly find RBs up and down the draft but that player has to be developed. And that’s something they could’ve been doing all along but you can’t think you’re going to get a productive plug and play runner late in the draft that’s going to light it up right out of the gate. They love to paint themselves into a corner.

Good. There are plenty of good RBs in this draft.

Guys like Brooks, Benson and Allen could walk in and instantly transform this backfield.

just like Deuce.

Granted, most teams aren't taking RB's in the 1st. Lately 1-2 will go in round one. But thinking you will get a quality back in the 5th round or later is unrealistic. We'll end up with guys like Deuce or Bo Scarborough. KC and Pacheko are a once or twice in a decade thing.

Most RB's now are found in rounds 2-4. Even then, you'll be hard pressed waiting til the late 4th to find one.

round 2 - 3 you get a quality starter but this team always does things backward.

I’m very curious on how the RB room will look next year. I’m actually excited to get some fresh legs back there.

And to do so you need a run blocking OL and a good RB. Starting quality. We have neither.
I’m not suggesting we don’t need better OL. We absolutely do. We also need a good RB

No...he didn't do THAT well. He was still part time and still running his "get to the edge" plays.

He was not going full time game after game and having go up the middle. When he did try it wasn't THAT much more successful certainly not consistently so (since I know you want to cherry pick a couple good games).

It took a few games for the leg to come around. That's not why Pollard was off and on most of the season. Getting hit at or behind the LOS was a huge problem this year in Dallas. Poor scheme and run calling!
that's why no matter who is the starting RB be ,,, i expect no difference performance next year in ' 24.
with the very same coaching staff, scheme and play calling returning.

With Pollard himself, i would only questioned if his once superior burst and acceleration is just no longer there.
As bad as the coach scheme is, i'd thought at least a few broken plays where he'd flash that patented home run speed.

I've only seen two splash plays all year where there could've flashes of him former self.- ( both pass plays ) in even later games in the season where
his leg is supposedly stronger. . But i didn't

And it's not just the run game. Coaches very rarely use or scheme RBs into the pass game. whether Pollard or Rico.

Yep, OL, LB, RB, DT and probably S since Kearse is likely gone and Hooker appears done. Can add DE depending on what happens with Armstrong and DLaw and WR.

But we will be fortunate if we adequately address 1 or 2 of these.

I know Jerry says they are "all in" but Stephen is still Stephen and he loves his cheap labor force.

They have Markquese Bell ($990k 2024 cap hit), Juanyeh Thomas ($915k), and Israel Mukuamu ($1,087,676). The next DC may not play 3 Safeties as much as DQ did, so those 3 could be primary backups for Donovan Wilson and Malik Hooker.

MM likes the slow developing run behind our center getting pushed into the backfield

True, plus we never draft safeties earlier than day 3 anyways.
