I was shocked we kept him over Gardener
you think the coaches in Dallas will be able to force the guy to break his bad habits of using his hand wrong to run with the ball? the coaches out in Seattle couldn't force him to break his bad habits of wrongly using his hands to protect the football while running which led to a lot of fumbles.
He has 1 career fumble.
That would make sense. Given his other measurables, including the 10 and 20 yard splits, the 4.5 seems very out of place.
It might take a couple weeks, but I believe Michael will spilt snaps with McFadden with Randle being his primary "backup" with Michael getting snaps on run downs and McFadden getting snaps on passing downs.
Michael in my opinion is a superior player to Randle and comes in with a similar rap sheet right now. Good runner who is unproven ( moreso then "bad") in pass pro. Given Randle knows the offense I believe for the first couple weeks of the season he will be the primary runner, but a major fire has been lit under him
So the guy tested better at the combine than Chris Johnson, Ladanian Tomlinson, McFadden, Peterson, Forte, LeSean McCoy and Jamaal Charles.http://www.fieldgulls.com/nfl-draft...raft-2014-sparq-profiling-part-3-running-back
A great read on why Michaels is considered an athletic freak.
I doubt Michael even makes the game day roster. Don't see the Boy's having 4 rb's active. Dunbar most likely will because he's receiving threat.
Thanks for the info, was he Lynch's main backup last year ?
He didn't put up those numbers on paper. Athleticism is athleticism. But that doesn't make someone a good football player. It just has a high correlation with it.Athleticism on paper and athleticism on the field are two different things. Don't get me wrong. I like this trade and looking forward to seeing him run behind this offensive line
This post on the Seahawks board made me laugh-out-loud...
"Those on the Cowboys board are going bananas over this. Idiots think we got f-jax to be lynch's replacement someday."
Dunbar wont see the field unless McFadden gets hurt
He'll be on the 53. My point. Michaels won't unless Randle/McFadden have an injury.
Unsure how you arrived at this. Statistically, he only had 2 fumbles over 2013 and 2014 and 1 in 2015. Did I miss something? That's 3 fumbles out of 105 carries for a back that's used sparingly. Maybe it's correctable. I suppose we'll see.
Exactly.
I don't get this as any remote sense of desperation.
They have saying for MONTHS that they are keeping an eye on , and have no way ruled out, adding a RB if it upgrades even in the smallest way.
Something like this...a low end move that could, if the opportunity presented itself...was totally expected.
If we were trying to trade a mid rounder or higher for a way more established back...say Forte or someone...then that would show they are highly unhappy with our starters.
Do I think they needed to fortify the position? Yes. Personally I did.
