Game Day ***Cowboys vs Bills post game thread***

And that's no even taking his time in Philly into account, where he won 6 division titles, went to 5 NFC Championship games and a Superbowl.

Yeah, he has never gotten over the hump and won a title, but to even remotely compare Garrett's career to Reid at this point is laughable.

I agree and I've always been a huge critic of Reid. Always felt he'd choke when it mattered but he at least competes for playoff spots regularly. He's a good coach.

The love for Weeden is somewhat comical. He had his moments in Cleveland & Dallas as well, but those moments are fleeting...particularly against good teams/defenses, which the Titans certainly aren't...even less so minus Mariota.

Interestingly, the Titans were a team that made a coaching change and drafted a QB in the 1st round. Despite both, sometimes things just don't work out...at least right away. Currently, they have the worst record in the league.

Guys like Reid & Bowles inherited pretty good rosters. Ironically, Reid wore out his welcome in Philly & now the Chipster might as well. I like Reid though, and he's done a great job this season. Similarly, Rex Ryan wore out his welcome in NY despite making 3 AFC Championship games. Harbaugh had a great run in SF...but they were 8-8 in his final season and that roster was gutted by injuries & retirements, and further hindered by Kaepernick's regression.

Minus Romo...Garrett & Linehan are simply too conservative IMO. They play by the book too much. And yes, situational game management has often escaped Garrett. This has been the perfect storm in terms of a disaster of a season...but I don't blame everything on 1 or 2 people. So many things have contributed to it.

If they made a change to a Payton, etc...so be it. Jerry's gonna do whatever Jerry wants to do.

Jerry on Jason: "We’ve put a lot of effort into training Jason Garrett. I want to take advantage of that. If we don’t have him, we don’t get payback for all the miscues and losses and criticism of sideline management. You don’t get a chance to benefit from the one way you learn - and that is the mistakes you make. So i want to have him around. "

Anyone that does not understand the implications of that quote (which this fan base has been living for 5+ years), well... I just don't know what to tell you. As an earlier poster said, the used car salesman has indeed called the jalopy a true lemon. Frightening. Not even ol Danny Snyder has a quote quite like this one.

So what's your point? I don't see that much difference. Eli and Cousins are mediocre and the others are awful. Hasselbeck and Bortles are mediocre and Mettenberger is still better than anything we have.

Actually Bortles is very underrated and has that offense going pretty good with 2 very good and up and coming WR's. He is very much flying under the radar right now.

That's from 2013. I wonder if Jerry's stance has changed any since then. Probably not. Just more miscues and losses....

Agreed. After Romo he might be the best on that list.

No, he just needs to collect his thoughts.

We can only hope Jerry is finally fed up with this coaching training seminar and hires a legit NFL coach. He continues to not understand puppet head coaches do not work. Switzer only did because of the overwhelming pre free agency talent on the roster at the time. And then they slid badly when talent left.
